I don't think so. He did front him. Too close to prove contact or no contact. They'll say the intent was there and give him another game ban. The fact the neither the ref or lino saw or gave anything won't come into it as it's all video evidence.

I can't see it but you never know.

If we're unsuccessful does that mean his ban will be increased?

I can see the FA making some tosh about how they need to keep it 'out of the game' and will try to stand strong. If we're lucky they might decide to just reduce the ban by one

Poll says that the video evidence proves the ref saw the incident and did not do anything ?

Yeah but think they have to appeal at least to state that the club is on Joey's side on this one.

Not a chance it will be rescinded. This is the FA we are dealing with, probably the most incompetent, useless governing body in sport.

They will back their ref's to the hilt, especially against little old QPR.

I'm going to go with the glass half full approach.

                    * The video repays clearly show Barton getting the tom tit kicked out of him before the incident.

                    * Barton does react, but there is no evidence that he made contact (infact quite the contrary), and there is no evidence that he intended to make contact.

Players front up to each other all the time and never get sent off. Handbags are all part of the game.

Verdict: Red card recinded. Bradley Johnson given a 3 match ban for gross simuation.

                      QPR to appeal Barton red

QPR are proceeding with a formal appeal to the FA regarding Joey Barton's red card against Norwich.

evry expert i have heard mention this inc former refs think the decision scandalous and one of the worst sendings off see

its not like when you see something and react and show a red card , these are easy mistakes to make, this was incompetence of highest order as both the lino and the ref saw it and allowed play to continue , they only stopped play cos of another foul on joey, if they saw it they would have blown straight away , otherwise joey could have crossed a ball we score (i know not likely way were playing) and then what ? take the centre and send him off??

The really stupid thing was that the ref blew for the foul on Barton. When play re-started the free kick was to Norwich at the spot where the 'headbutt' occured, even though the ref hadn't blown for it.

I would of thought that the club might of tested the water before jumping in with an appeal.

To be fair to JB, he has hit the nail on the head with this:

Barton added: 'Why don't they copy rugby and cite incidents instead of taking a blind stab at decisions? Theres too much money involved for guesswork.''

I just can't see it being rescinded, but hope I'm wrong.
