      spreading to ice hockey

Panthers forward Krys Barch was ejected after reportedly directing a racial slur at a Montreal player Saturday night, and Florida coach Kevin Dineen said it was now a matter for the NHL to investigate.

No. You cannot define race by geographical demarcations imposed by man. Race is genetic. And with that I'm off for a lie down........

The FA laws are clear and players are warned about it. If you abuse a fellow player regarding the colour of his skin you have broken the rules and face a fixed 8 match ban if found guilty. So, if a player was abused as a white wotsit or whatever, yes they could report it and yes the offneding player could be charged.

There's a simple way around the problem which may come as a shock but don't abuse anyone by the colour of their skin, which is why the rule is in place, then there is no issue, players won't get charged or made an example of. It may then trickle down to fans. Having spent a QPR match a few years ago hearing one of our players constantly referred to as a 'F*cking useless black' where obviously the skin colour was a negative issue this supporter felt worth raising in is vitriol, that would be no bad thing. if skin colour isn't an issue and it's just descriptive - why not just settle for f*cking useless - i've yet to hear any fan abuse a player as being a f*cking useless white.

              Cheers for clearing that up
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
