  • An Idiot broad.....

have to say i've just watched the game and we were lucky toget away with a 1-nil loss... not going to single out any players that made a case for themselves as its a team game...but...NO

as finishes go..the goal was perfection from an inch perfect pass..no one could defend or stopped that!!

Every player was simply outclased by thier opposite number with no answer..

arsenal are a top 5 club for that reason..they are a class (or 2) above us......

debate the maybe penalty at the end but they should have beeen 4 or 5 clear by then.

Fact is we just aint in thier class....accept it and move on....

We can stil survive but it aint looking good at the moment..roll on Jan..and the Warnock miricle we believe in..(apparently!)

    So true.

I did think though that Faurlin, Barton, Young and SWP were very good. I love seeing how well Faurlin is growing into a Premiership class.

We have to be realistic. A defence with Gabbidon and Connoly would struggle against Harland and Wolf Welders FC

Funny how different people can see different views of a game.
I thought we held our own for large parts of the game.
Was pleased to see us actually take the game to Arsenal more than once.
And with two strikers up top, am sure we could have got at least a point.

Arsenal are a fairly good side, not a great side, a fairly good side, take Van Persie away from Arsenal and you are left with a fairly average team.

A scoreline of anything more than 1-0 to Arsenal would have flattered then no end.

Agree. They certainly deserved to win but we defo came away with a bit of credibility. To say we should have lost by 4 or 5 is scandalous! :yush:
I'm here for a long time, not a good time...

If they'd have won 3-0 then we couldn't have had too much to complain about... although dare say there would be lots thinking about it....

Don't think there is any contradiction between the two arguments: we did play reasonably well with all the players mentioned and one or two more besides putting in a good shift but we cd easily have lost by four or five. I was watching it surrounded by Arsenal fans at the "wrong" end of the ground and they were extremely frustrated with their team, thought they played really poorly and were bemoaning how they couldn't finish. All fans like to look at matches from their own team's point of view.

Ok guys, its a game of opinions again...

maybe watch the game later this week and look at the chances the squandered against us....

dont bother with possesion or passes (which they were higherr on) look at actual real goals that should have been scored..with an open mind..

I'm not picking on any individual player, but as a team they are way above us. We did ourselves credit to get 1-nil with a large slice of luck....

IMO and that of everybody sitting at the table i was with..(@ 9 guys)

              still..each to thier own i suppose !!

No way should that have been a 3-0 win for ArseAnal, and what about the two chances that fell to Adel, and lamentably, Connolly?
Surely, using your logic it should have been 3-2 to the ####?

Nah, had Wright-Phillips not cocked it up, we would have come away with at least a point, and a thoroughly deserved point at that.

Absolutely agree, Arsenal just about deserved the win but the fact we had them heading to the corner flag in last 10 mins speaks volumes itself. Had we snatched a point it would have been deserved.

The one I was at we could quite easily have been 2 or 3 down by HT and then the course of the whole match would have changed.... Our 'chances' were not clear cut by any stretch of the imagination... Connelly was never going to score.. crikey he struggles to defend let alone score...

The fact that they were keeping the ball near to the corner flags was because of their profligate finishing (or lack of it)...

I hate to have to be so critical of the team that I have followed for 36yrs but we were workmanlike at best and could and probably should have lost by a bigger margin...

Turn it around and... had Rangers played as the #### did and created so many chances and they nicked a point at the death you'd have thought D.i.c.k Turpin had ridden into town....

Liked what you did with the 'ArseAnal' BTW never seen that before and it made me chuckle....

I believe we approached LFC and AFC games hoping to get a 0-0. If I'm correct, we almost suceeded and were undone by momentary lapses. Maybe I'm naive but our approach/set-up ceded possesion and territory to our opponents and inevitably led to them having lion's share of chances. This means that any stats-based analysis will show us to be well-beaten in both games. However, we only lost 1-0 and had clear chances to score ourselves so could easily have got a point in each game.
My only gripe is our failure to apply ourselves with similar diligence, concentration and sense of purpose in games against weaker teams.

                            mmmmm...mixed responses....
problem is, the diffrence between a good prem team and a bottom 6 team are so small that sometimes its hard to spot....
but the fact that they will be i Europe again this year and have never been relegated out of the top division, shows that they are a club way above us......
If you think we should have nicked a point, then good luck to you and yes we poss could have, although it wouldnt have been deserved IMHO....

Too true they are different class to us but remember back to the days when we were top team in london. A distant memory yeah and a lot has changed since then and money is now a big factor. If we can survive this season with TF we have a bit of financial clout that should help us to become a mid table prem team in the coming years. Personally i'm happy weve played Liverpool, Man Ure and Arsenal and only lost 1-0, 2-0, 1-0 to 3 of the best teams in in Europe. True Man Ure could have had 10 if they'd taken their chances, Liverpool could possibly have had 7 or 8 and Arsenal 4 or 5 but thats football. We live to fight another day with our goal difference not severly dented. We don't have to play these teams till then end of the season now whereas others do. For once lets be positive we have some very winnable games coming up so lets back the lads and keep positive.
