    Reserve game mate.

'Federico Macheda says he has finally grown up and is ready to prove he belongs at Manchester United.

Macheda endured a miserable six-month loan spell at Sampdoria last season, failing to score in 14 appearances as they were relegated from Serie A.

Such was the level of anger among Samp fans towards their team, Macheda was scared to leave his home for fear of being attacked'

Fair enough, did wonder what happened to the fans haha. Don't think he's what we need right now tbh

Having seen his stats not quite so impressed was sort of hoping because he's under 21 he wouldn't be the 25, so almost like getting an extra, but as has been said we already have non-scoring strikers now so don't need another.

So who exactly is good enough for us then? No to Jelavic and No to Macheda but mention Gary 'bloody' Hooper and people cream their pants! Give me a break you lot.

Sorry but i'm just not a firm believer in stats alone as a bench mark. There are so many different reason why players play well or not, for us to just dismiss everyone we are linked to because of misguided views. Macheda is a prem class player that plays for Man Utd and we are still not happy. Some need to take a step back and remember who we are and where we have come from.

All we can do is get behind the team and hope our scouts and management team know their onions.
None of us know what our budget is for jan, so we'll just have to wait and see.

That's a matter of opinion. Just because he's been in and around their squad doesn't mean he's a prem class striker.... what's he done in the prem since coming on the scene about 3 years ago???

He's never been as good as he would seem to think he is. All the hype is from the debut appearance when he scored a good goal against Villa. Of late he has been simply awful when he's played... see the Basel game when they desperately need a goal he hit the bar from 3 yards with the goal gaping and keeper out of the picture.... does that sound like the answer to our needs. A mate of mine is a Manc ST holder and hasn't a good word to say about him and sent me a text tonight when he heard the news to say "you can't be happy with that".

Yes of course there may be reasons for poor performances, he could put himself under huge pressure to do well in the few appearances for Utd he gets and it could be too much for him. He could be a revelation with us if he got a good start etc.... nobody knows, but at this time, on paper, he is not what we need imo.

My main concern is that if he comes, Warnock will feel obligated to play him every match regardless of performances..... I hope i'm wrong.

Liam Miller did well.... Djemba Djemba... Taibi.... etc etc etc... having played for a great club is not a guarantee of quality. Unfortunately, imo, Macheda falls into this catagory and not the same as that of the likes of Rooney, Giggs, Scholes, Keane etc etc etc.

You raise some fair points but I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the pressure. That Villa game was the only one he will have played where nothing was expected of him, but after he scored that goal well it was a different story from then on and he hasn't coped well. Going back to Italy wasn't the smartest of moves, pressure was still on him there because he was supposed to be Italy's next big player, and again he failed to cope. I just think, coming to us, Warnock will put his arm around him and tell him to just go and enjoy himself and that's all he needs.

Shame he couldn't do the same this season to our best player.

If he does come, I will support him and of course hope he proves me wrong. I think certain players struggle with pressure and it could be a big factor as has been the case with many players... after all being told to go on with 10 mins left anf make a difference, or knowing only a win will do etc, and if you have one chance you must take it etc can't be easy.

My only real concern if he comes is if he is supposed to be the "answer" to our striking issues, and if he has to play every game as part of the deal. If not then as a loan there's not a lot to lose and potentially a lot to gain.

I can't see him beng the only forward coming in and i certainly wouldn't expect warnock to agree to him playing every game regardless of form.

Ric-Roc, Warnock did it last season but this year Adel needed to learn to grow up. The cuddles can't be endless!

Ric, Warnock has spent his whole time at QPR putting his arm round AT.

It's time these players front up and perform for their boss.
