I think the issue with Adel is that in the Championship we could carry him when he had a strop, so we always persisted as he'd win us games on his own at times. In the prem, we can't carry any passengers. Something had to give and they chose to drop him.... he is playing well now though so hopefully the penny may have dropped.

Federico Macheda. (Born 22 Aug, 1991) Forward for Asteras Tripolis. Current season & career stats available, including appearances, goals & transfer fees.

Only 15 starts & 5 goals for Man U 3 for Sampadoria says it better....subs appearances coulda been last 10 mins etc, dont get me wrong id like to pin our hopes on some1 more experienced but give the kid a chance

That's a fair comment. Stats are stupid when they class a 30 second sub appearance in stoppage time to run down the clock as "an appearance". Remember Forlan bacame a laughing stock for not scoring for Utd for a lot of games, but next to no starts... went on to become top scorer in Spain and prove to be a class act.

Stats regarding goals should only be goals / minutes played. That's the only way to create a level playing field and true reflection for all. They collate it but rarely refer to it. Michael Owen when in Madrid for a season had the best goals per minute of any striker in Europe, but people still classed his time there as a failure when he returned.... what else could he have done when given the match time????

Macheda's not in that class, but could do well, or equally fail.

Exactly. it makes you laugh..its amazing how one spl striker with no international or champions league experience is good enough for us and the other with several international caps as well as european experience isn't.

its seems whoever is mentioned unless its defoe someone will deem him not god enough.
