exactly ric. the price is only being banded around but is too high. comparing him to anybody else is pointless imo-yeah some others that came down did,nt make it but none of these were as big a name. boyd was fat and had'nt being playing as well as his previous decent form hence the 1mil pricetag(lets be honest you get nowt for that) when he came down. boro have done well with the few they signed but they were got rid of at celtic(and all for the mill mark).not suggesting it's a good league but their is the odd few that could be very decent in the prem and jelivic is one of those. its the price is the problem.

To be honest I don't know a lot about him but I do know that Liverpool and Newcastle got a deadline day bid rejected for him and that he has good goal scoring stats.

From what i've seen on youtube (Though it can make Agyemany look world class) the chances he scores are the chances we make but do not put in the net.

Price tag, yes 9/10million is very high but he is still 26 which is young for a goal scoring forward and he's on stats one of Rangers/The SPL's best players
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

So basically what people are saying is that just because he's in the spl he's not good enough for us. Funny how Izaguirre is wanted by some of the top teams in europe based on his performances in the spl, you can only score against whats in front of you. And for the person who said that celtic's best striker came from Scunthorpe? So what? Hooper is better than every single one of our strikers. People need to realise you can only play against whats in front of you, just because you play in a certain league it doesn't mean your useless, I'm sure you would all prefer Bothroyd to fall on his #### for 90 minutes instead of taking a gamble on a spl striker?

Del I agree with every word of that apart from the last line.

A £9m gamble is not wise.

Personally I think he could be a great buy.

              Agree with that Ric.
One thing I would say is if we are willing to gamble £7/8/9 mill on him we may as well gamble £4/5 mill on say Maynard, and still have money to spend.
Personally just don't know about this fella because the spl does distort
statistics, In Warnock we trust is all we can do,think he's a better judge than me.

9million a bit much and scottish football very poor. two team league simular to our very own 6 team league. But he's scoreing goals? That what counts in staying up. Id prefer a decent centre half.As that is our major problem.

If he was much cheaper ie like 2mill then yh most of us wouldn't mind. But anything over 6 or 7 mill is taking a big risk, especially with an SPL striker which is basically championship/league 1 standard. Its like putting in £7mill for Ricky Lambert. Big risk
"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

see thats where i differ-not saying that lambert is not worth a risk at his price of 3mill odd but the spl striker is that kind of price for a reason-better quality imo. its a tough call alround really-who would have thought that hh would be such a big hit?? holt is playing well as are other players from promoted teams-maybe that suggests that bar the top 5 teams the standard of defending in the prem this season is low and a chance on a few lower priced players is the route to go. or do we try punch our percieved weight and go for it????? i'm heading towards the 2nd option meself.....

I don't what all the fuss is about this proposed transfer. The guy has scored goals wherever he has been including a goal ratio of a goal every 1.5 games for Rangers. Alright we can point to players like Kris Boyd who scored bag loads of goals in Scotland but looked average in England but anyone who has watched Jelavic play will tell you he is a totally different type of player.

To put into context, can anybody give me an example of a player who has scored 30 goals in the last calendar year in a half decent division that we can get for less?

Rangers signed this guy for 4m, trust me that is a much bigger fee for them that 7m or 8m is to us and I don't hear any of their fans complaining!

Would we really miss Jelavic? When was the last time he performed? Take away the penalties and tally up his goal scoring...... Well that's Jelavic staying now Ger's.... WATP.

I see the bid was tabled prior to Celtic v Rangers game, after his performance in that match I wouldn't be surprised if the bid is revoked.
