simple fact is anyone that scores goals in the scottish premier league is a waste of time buying there is no substance to a goalscoring record in that league every week rangers or celtic are playing against appalling oppersition ie against a league 2 standard side week in week out, this would be a massive £9million risk and could **** are chances up of staying up would rather gamble on nicky maynard or andy johnson.

Totally agree. Chris Sutton and Duncan Ferguson are examples.

Don't know anything about him so I won't judge him. I will say that just because he's playing in Scotland, doesn't make him shοte by default.

And then Charlie Adam is an example of saying otherwise. I agree, SPL is pony and I wouldnt judge a player being good on the basis they have done well in that league, but I have read various people that follow scottish football saying Jelavic is actually a very good player and does well at international level.

I havent seen him, so cant judge, but I wont write him off on the basis he plays in the SPL without having seen him.

For once I agree with you. Seen jelavic play a few times and he has done nothing to warrant that price tag.

Celtic's star striker is ex Sc**thorpe and Ranger's is ex Burnley. Says it all...

Some of those finishes dont matter who the opposition is, he knows where the goal is. If Warnock likes him that's good enough for me. Remember Walters? We all seemed confused by that but the lad has made the step up to the Prem. Jelavic will cost what we are willing to pay, based on what NW thinks and what Rangers are prepared to let him go for. Their championship replacement, Billy Sharp? Would cost them £3-4m so £6-8m for Jelavic doesnt seem too high....

We have never spent more than €3 million for a player so doubtit very much we will pay anything like €8 million

I don't think what we have done in the past matters anymore. We are clearly in a new era now and supporters need to acknowledge that spending 8-10 million on a player is no longer a big money transfer. If we plan to stay in this league we are gonna have to spend that sort of money many times over. We are no longer getting 2-3 million a season but more like 90-100 million.

If he was £1m we'd all be purring.

Its just the price that is putting most off not so much the player. I trust Neil Warnock, his scouts & the board to not waste or gamble 9 million pounds.

Let's wait & see but he has got pedigree in Europe.
