McCoist has denied we have made a bid for him, he knows nothing of it! I've watched him a lot this season and he's ok, thats about it. The figures being mentioned are crazy!

As for someone saying he's better than Zamora, not a chance!

better to gamble on a player scoring goals regularly at a decent level than a striker who has been sat on the bench going rusty at a big prem team imo

I would rather sign him than chamakh or pavlechenko for instance at this time of years as we need a player who can hit the ground running in his first game not someone that will take a month getting truly match fit, we definately cannot afford that as the winable games are coming up now

Very good point. One only has to remember Rob Hulse for example.

its true what peterg said....rather him than pav. have seen jel a few times this season and until the last 4-5 weeks he has looked like a good player-is not happy at rangers any more by all accounts. yes its a pony league but all you can do is bang the ball in the net and he knows how to do that. not sure we have any better strikers but 8mil is defo too much imo

Asked my Celtic supporting mate about him last night, his words were " a **** hot player in a **** rangers team" . Sounds good to me coming from a Celtic fan ! I think the figures for him being quoted are way over the top though .

Although we can't dismiss an SPL player becasue as said above, many great players have filtered into the prem from there in recent years, the cost should be realistic.... £8-£10m isn't imo.

I've not seen much of him but remember a while ago thinking that he looked a class player when i saw some of his finishing. But that said, anyone from the SPL has to be a gamble. Kris Boyd is the obvious stand out example... scored for fun up there and then failed to make an impact in the Championship...

In fact, Strachan nearly took them down with a host of top SPL players.

Will fit in well here then

Kris Boyd was like Lionel Messi in the SPL, he did well when he came to England didn't he! Would much rather Zamora or Pavlechenko! Especially with the kind of money they are talking for Jelavic.
