  • Jelavich from rangers

Ive spelt the name completely wrong but ally McCoist has said we have made a formal bid for him!
I have to say in very concerned if this is true though I would give my backing I him! The figures bGeing quoted for this guy in the papers are upwards of 7 million to 10 million! To spend this on a unproven prem player who plays his trade in Scotland I think would be a horrendous decision!
War nock should be going after better than that!
I am a little worried after hearing this!

He is an international and a decent player, much better than what we have.
Playing In Scotland has no bearing.
Would you have turned your nose up at Henrick Larsson or Paulo Dicanio??

Stepping from the SPL to the PL is like stepping up from the Championship to the PL -- no guarantees by any means, and a massive step too far for many strikers.
      Worrying indeed.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

My worry is that this could be a very expensive risk/gamble for a lot of money on an unproven Prem league player! Now he could turn out to be amazing but he could also struggle to adapt to the prem league which is far superior to he Scottish premier! We need someone who can come in and hit he ground running!
I really thought we'd go for Zamora or johnson or maybe a punt at Defoe where I think our money would be better spent whether in being realistic or not woth those prospects I don't know!

Lol, Jelavic is better than both Zamora or Johnson, the boy is built for the EPL. I can understand that some of you know little about him but you really shouldn't dismiss a player because he's coming from the SPL, just look at Charlie Adam and he was useless there.

Best player in scotland at the moment. So happy with this. Hope it isn't 7mil though.

He was shite last night but hard to judge him on that.

Has a good record of scoring against good sides in Europe & is highly rated.

Only concern for me is the price. If it was £2-3m I'd say go for it but £8m odd is a massive risk. Would rather the money was going on a player who has played & done it at this level. Gotta trust our scouts, manager & board though.

Also have you a link to Fatty McCoists quote?

Have to admit i've got doubts (Ray Wilkins) but my word aren't his goals nice, reminds me of a good Berbatov.
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Looking at the Rangers messageboards, he appears to have lost interest of late. Something to do with being a lone striker recieving sh!te service.........

Holy **** if we are nailing our colours on this type of signing to get us out the **** it could be a bumpy ride, and we could all need grecian 2000, or worse toupes by the end of the season.
                        Agree with swanley

Id be devastated if we spunked £8m on him.

Probably more like £4m and Bothroyd.

I live in scotland now and have seen him play a few times, he scores goals regular but its a gamble and a big price to get him.its been rumoured for a while we're in for him but where did you see/hear it?
