  • Armand Traore............

A very frustrating player. Has all the ability in the world.

I know we are playing him at left back, but he is clearly not a defender. His decision making at times is not that of a defender. He was lucky not to have conceded that pen last night when he should have cleared the ball first time.

I hope Warnock makes it a priority in the transfer window to get a proper left back and that way we can move Traore to left wing where he can have more of a positive influence on the game as he is very good going forward.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Agree and disagree. He should move further forward but long term I see him as our left back. He can tackle, head, great crosser just lacks defensive knowhow and positioning. He's not played regularly for a while before he joined. I'd hope and expect our coaches to teach him the defensive side.

Wenger thought this boy would develop into a world class player. He based that on his ability. The problem seems to be his football brain sometimes. The ingredients are all there, it is whether the missing bits can be coached into him.

Probably wing-back in a 3-5-1 would be his ideal position.

A couple of times recently he has appeared to just give up on winnable balls. Very frustrating to watch Wayne Bridge would be a very welcome addition and move him up to left mid

You want to play Traore in mackie's position? Neil will have a heart attack.

Warnock's obsession with Mackie is becoming alarming, as if he's undroppable and must never be subbed. For weeks he's played SWP out of position to accomodate Mackie on the right.... last night for whatever reason he wants to play Barton on the right, so instead of dopping Mackie, he drops SWP and moves Mackie to the Left..... If he can play there them play SWP on the right so he can get some decent crosses in. Very odd management.

Yes mackie has scored 2 goals now, but he has on far too many occasions been greedy and tried to beat too many players and just run into people or out of play.... he is playing like Adel did at times.

As for Traore, he COULD be brilliant if he's a willing learner. KC will be working with him and he just needs to sharpen up the awareness more and know when it's a time to play and when to clear. It will come and i am really glad he's a QPR player as there are few better FB's at attacking in the Prem.

Some good points here. Am a big Traore fan but was getting so frustrated with him last night. He just wanted so long on the ball that an easy clearance was made a heart-in-the-mouth one on numerous occasions. My brother asked "is he just a bit thick? It seems to take ages for his brain to compute that he needs to off-load the ball."
