    Cheers mate
Personally, found this a very encouraging read. Samba would be a mega signing for us (bigger than Barton & SWP IMO).
Would love Ridgewell also, purely because we are crying out for an LB to then allow Traore to push up[ to LM.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

That souns realistic from what others are saying and amazingly i'd be happy if any of them sign!
      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Ryan Bertrand is so good by the way, i've wanted him signed for a long time now

Would love to see samba in the hoops but cant see blackburn selling him to a relegation rival and whether we like it or not at the moment thats what we are although a win tonight would help!

Not digging out the OP or his source, but a couple of questions:

                  - Why on EARTH would Blackburn sell Samba now, and to us? From a sporting point of view it would be instant relegation and from a financial point of view (unless we put £10m-15m down) they would get the same for him in the summer as they would now. Even if they're broke it makes no sense. And let's not even go into the public relations side of it - Venky's will get lynched.

                  - Bertrand looks potentially a good player but surely is exactly what we don't need now we've got Traore - another young left sided player better at attacking than defending. Makes no sense unless as backup.

TBH I'd be surprised if Zamora was really gagging to come to us either, unless we were paying him 80 bags a week too. If Villa or Sunderland (wouldn't rule out Spurs either if they sell Pav) come in then we'll have strong competition.

Another thing I'd wonder about is if Bassong is really such a done deal after all. Looks like Cahill is going to Chelsea so what's changed from when they nixed the original deal? Who's coming in for them (have heard rumours about Vertonghen) and do they really need to sign him now at an inflated price and not wait til the summer? Doesn't sound like Levy to me.

Traore off to African Nations for a month, and not sure he's not better played at LM anyway.

Ahh I'd forgotten about Africa Nations. Carry on.

Would you have a Traore-Bertrand left side though? I'd worry.

Haha just remembered - was it on here or on the dotorg a couple of years ago when some bloke came on asking if Damion Stewart was going Africa Nations? Oh dear.
