I'm not even going to entertain this bizarre & pathetic idea that Gary Johnson somehow knows more about football than Paulo Sousa, it is actually genuinely a bizarre thing for someone to even suggest it.
I suppose Barry Fry knows more about football than Lothar Matthaus as well ??
    Absolute nonsense comments.

    • if they are not going to let Sousa get his own players in then why appoint him as manager in the first place? was he supposed to be a lackey and a simple "yes man". Perhaps he has turned out to be a bit more independent than a couple at the club hoped he would be and now have decided they want a new "yes man".

Proberbly not, but he has scouts and can watch DVDs etc. More importantly, does GP know what players we need!?

Why could Mourhino manage Chelsea without knowing the Premiership? Why can Hiddink? Why can Benitez? You can't have one rule for everyone else, but change it for PS just because GP don't like him! Oh and don't say the other managers are more experienced, knowledgeable etc as it won't wash, especially Mourhino as he started out as an interpreter!

        • Plus, don't give me any rubbish that it is different because I mentioned Premiership managers and not Championship!

How can you compare the first 20 games/ 11 of them were played before we could buy anyone. Only Leighterwood was bought in the August transfer deadline date.

Malcolm. Rehman, Bolder, Nardellio, Barker, Sahar a couldn't careless Scott Sinclaiir. Its Like comparing terry Venables with Alan Mullery. Its all about the players who have at your disposal.
Good point Pete. And who exactly was it that brought in Malcolm and Sinclair, or are you expecting us to believe that they were up there at the top of Gigi's wanted list with Borrowdale:scorn:

Plus as has been mentioned before clever how you managed to miss out the fact that we had Buz, Vine, Hogan and Rowlands all fit......

Just because Sousa talks a good talk and won European distinction, does not mean he knows the players to get us out of the championship.
And the people who are in charge of signings do, do they?

A load of teenagers from the continent, never going to work was it?

HH, 43 starts and 16 goals in 3 and a half seasons before joining us injured thats a shock.

Routledge, not convinced yet had a couple of good games. 34 starts and 3 goals in 3 and a half seasons. Went to Villa, but off loaded pretty quickly.

Cookie, 4 starts last season, not a patch on his old self this season. Sentimentality, admirable but not good business.

Miller, 18 starts in one and a half seasons.

              Tomassi......

                :waaaht:

Sousa has had his time to get to know the championship. Now let him prove he can wheel and deal to get his own players in and take us out the championship.. Keep the faith. Sousa is no mug..

Could it possibly be that PS unlike Gigi doesn't let himself get touted around the local pub like GP's new puppy for the gratification of our esteemed Sporting Directors hangers on....

                    • I particularly love the line, to say let him wheel and deal.

We can debate all night long on whether Sousa is the man, but what kind of players is he aware of?

He played champions league football and played at the highest level in Germany. He has no knowledge of English football, he would identify a position needed, but not a player. Thats the difference.

                        • jim gregory was largely uneducated but in football terms he was awsome
how so many qpr fans seem to relate education with management amazes me
yes paulo sopusa is articulate and educated but that dosnt mean he can penetrate a mans thought process
so i agree with pete in fact i started the doubting of sousa and pete joined in with me he can see ive got a point
                          we need a charactor
                          a motivator of men
an inavative creative person with some idiasyncratic qualities to sychranise with the players

                          • But if you can't see the improvement (especially in midfield) over the past few games I can only assume you are watching the game with your eyes shut?
And the fact that Sousa's one player choice (as he himself said) is Lopez tells you that the bloke has some idea what he's doing -- although I notice that those trying to stir it against Sousa are also a lot of the same ones trying to rubbish Lopez!

Why do I feel there is a BIG hidden agenda here???
(I don't normally look for things like that by the way, but it's sort of hitting me in the face a bit...)

Well apparantley he wanted Lopez and Routledge. Not doing too badly so far.

Because Swanley there is its sad to see that certain people are trying to destabalise the club we all love just for the gains of certain individuals. shameful!
