  • Blessing in disguise?

Perhaps the one good thing to come out of last night is that TF, Amit etc now know how desperate NW is to strengthen the squad and all this talk of 'one or two players and a couple of loans' will go away. We need 2 quality centre backs, a captain who wants not only to play for us but lead the team on the pitch as well, a couple of ball winners and tacklers for midfield plus another striker.

NW will stay that's for sure, but I don't like his attitude towards playing Mackie. Watching his press conference it is quite clear, that after Kenny, Mackie is first on the teamsheet. He seems to think SWP is good enough to play on the left and still make the kind of impact he did when at Man City and Chelsea (albeit mostly in a cameo role) but from what I've seen SWP ain't that good when on the left.

Traore is great going forward but left us so exposed last night it was embarrassing. Gabbidon appears to play okay alongside Fredinand but with anyone else he's shocking.

As I've said before I don't agree with NW's team selection and substitutions of late, but at least he said he will now go and get the players he wants without doubt, so as the title of the thread says, maybe last was a blessing in disguise.
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

We have 2 'quality' centre backs, unfortunately, they're championship 'quality'.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
