What is the point of buying a new striker in january?

Lets assume we already had Defoe for example last night. Very simular to DJ only a lot better.Would he have played? Not with the system we had last night. So it would have been him sitting on the bench instead of Campbell.Its amazing, given our dreadfull scoring record that DJ and Both were left on the bench. Yet once again he starts and finishes with Mackie. Now we all love Jamie, but can anyone honestly say he would start for any other prem league team. Bring him on for the last 20 mins or so, fair enough,' our plan B' but no way he should start. I know we are decimated by injuries, but come january, unless Neil has a real rethink about his tactics, nothing is going to change.Just another couple of strikers to warm the bench!

Bent and Defoe are 'pie in the sky' signings and as Gaze says Zamora is prob the best we'll get. Personally with HH in such great form, and a returning DJ I think we should be focusing on someone who can tackle and win the ball in midfield and a couple of CB's who know how to mark and defend. (Hope Gabbidon and Connolly read this)
