  • Onew Year Contract

Whoever we sign, we should not give more than one year deal to be renewed based on performance/achievement otherwise we will end up with a situation like Rowan Vine. imo Barton and SWP (as I believe have been given long-term contracts) have not conviced us with their performance in most of the games have they? SWP is known for going through defenders and dribbling. Have you seen him doing this with us? What I saw is loss of balance and horrible control when he receives the ball as well as trying to get rid of the ball asap. I am glad he was subbed yesterday and hope he does not play against Swansea in a hopeful that NW punishs him the same way he punished Taarabt. How many times has Barton given balls away this season and yet NW never takes him off?

Are you not surprised he's not as effective as he could because he's playing out of position?

Understand about the out of position stuff but what has this got to do with loss of balance?

Which decent player is gonna sign a one year contract?!

We'll end up with a load of old crocks looking to get one last pay check.

Not a very well thought out WATRBs thread.

            For a change.

I'd seriously consider bringing in Wayne Bridge at left back. He has been told he can go. This would the allow Traore to be played left midfield, a player who can also do a defensive job when required. Get a good centre back in (Bassong?) and switch SWP back to the right wing. I'd also try and buy Liam Ridgewell who can play centre back and left back.

Up front, HH is doing an excellent job, but needs support. This can be provided by DJ or Adel. I'd also break the bank and go for Defoe.

              My team would therefore be:

              Kenny

              Young Ferdinand Bassong Bridge

              SWP Barton Faurlin Traore

              HH Defoe

Squad back ups: Cerny, Mackie, Ridgewell, Hill, Adel, DJ, Derry, and maybe some youngsters with potential.
