More than decent in reality, and about where we are, which is my point. We're building a good squad, and unfortunately, we're getting too far ahead of ourselves. Not saying Samba and the likes are beyond us, but they will attract bigger clubs which makes our chances very slim.

I see disappointment for a lot of fans in this window as it's been hyped up way too far. In fairness, swap AJ with Zamora, Ridgewell with Bassong and I'd be pretty pleased with that window.

      We make a bid.
Samba comes and talks to Neil.
      We get excited.
It's almost a done deal as Sky report we are front runners.
We then talk Defoe, Klasnic and suchlike.
      Arsenal sign Samba.
      Defoe stays at Spuds.
      Klasnic goes to Villa.
We end up with Ridgewell, Livermore, Gomes and AJ.
      Fans all kick off.
      We scrape survival.
I dont think you'll be too far off ya know! For me, so long as your last line is correct, Im happy.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

at best we may get pavlechenko or kranjcar. but against i wouldnt hold my breath. tbh i dont want pavlechenko or zamora but beggers cant be choosers it seems.

Chances are they'll have to sell some of their better players in January. Hoilett seems likely to go, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few offers for Samba.

If that is the case, wouldn't be surprised to see Kean stay. Who would come in to manage a side at the bottom of the Prem at Xmas and then sell all its best players?

Would love Samba but why would he swap one relegation fight for another. He'll surely go to a bigger club.

Could say the same for Joey Barton pre joining us. He knew it was gonna be a scrap & let's be honest he could of signed for a bigger club than us if he'd waited another week or two. Not sure he'd get the same attention now going on form.

Back to Samba though & its all about buying into the 'vision' TF & AB have for the club.

I'd say he will head for somewhere like Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs but we can dream. Who knows....

So that's £20,000,000 on Bent, £8,000,000 on Samba and £15,000,000 on Krançar, Defoe and Bassong.

January spending up to £43,000,000 so far. Wow.

So if Cahill is soon to be announced as a done deal for the ****, at £7Million

Would Samba seem a little on the strong side at £8Million?
