Most Rs fans would have had this game down as a defeat. Had we played at the same tempo as the City and **** game we may have got a point. Many things conspired against us. The early kick off made for a dull atmosphere. We had some injuries and we conceded very early on.
But during the game so many players, especially the midfield were just standing off them allowing United to dictate the pace of the game. In the City and **** games we were chasing down and in their faces. There were many players who gave United too much respect. When we did have a go we created some decent chances and at this level you have got to take them which we didn't.
Our home record is the worst in the league and you know if you want to stay in this league you need to do well at home. We have dropped too man points at home. Sunderland, Swansea and Norwich games are massive. Arsenal is a write off for me.
Some of our high wage earning players like Barton and SWP need to start stepping up because I can't see much difference in them and our 'Championship' players from last season.
I still can't see what Warnock sees constantly in Mackie not to drop him but it is really starting to irritate him as it unbalances the side.
It's no disgrace losing 2 nil to the Champions, but I am sure there other promoted sides would not have lost like that.
