I have to admit I was very impressed by what I saw of him the other night and strongly believe he will be a great addition to the squad.

Quite a tough tackler who also helps out in defence when needed and certainly can pass the ball well.

I am not that naive to think that we really paid 3.5 million for him or anywhere near or at least up front but he could be the key to our success this season.

Lets all give the lad a chance?

that's really good news Paul lets hope so hey

i agree with you that i very much doubt we paid anything like the 3.5M quoted:confused:

but we are all aware of the prices these days for players & just because someone might pay millions for a player doesn't mean he's going to be a hit, likewise with only paying peanuts, he might turn out to be a gem (Peter Crouch springs to mind) how much did we pay for him (£60,000 i think) looks like he's on the move again for another £10M + pity we didn't have a sell on clause when we sold him :cry::cry: how much would that have been worth to us, god only knows :very_sad:

still think we need a couple more players to make a serious push tho

    U R'ssssssssss

thats good,we need to be patient with him,our stupid official site have done him no favours by announcing his transfer fee as £3.5 million,so straight away heaping pressure on him!

Def deserves a chance, pete also said he looked alright the other night, and QPR world commented he missed out on MOTM by a whisker to Balanta.

              ive been told

ive been told hes simular to simon walton who we paid 200 000 for when he was only 21 years of age
so we have bought a player one year older and 3 million 3 hundred thousand too much
but we were warned that jim magilton isnt much good at buying and selling players
but i agree we must give him support and hope that hes a better player than walton

                Told by whom?

Pete and Isleworth have seen him play and were quite positive.

Let's see for ourselves before we nail him to a cross.

I disagree dex, Simon Walton never really got a chance with us what with his injury, he came very highly rated, who knows how well he might have done had he not broken his leg in his first friendly!

Besides if he turns out to be fantastic we could be laughing all the way to the bank when a bigger club come knocking at our door in a couple of years time with a 10 million bid. Now i know thats a little adventurous but just trying to put a different spin on this.

imo let others talk about "magiltons history in buying and selling players"... afterall what do those people really know!? . . .If he brings in a total gem e.g. Faurlin he will be a hero.
