Transfer Window Targets - Realistic

With the transfer window fast approaching and for the first time, Rangers reportedly having a proper budget, who do you think we will be able to get in?

For me the areas that need strengthening. Up front, Full back, and a goalkeeper.

With us being a feeder club for Spurs, I reckon we will get Gomes or Cudicini, Bassong and Pavelchenko (top signings in my book). As for a fullback, I can see us going in for Clyne from CP.

Other tips would be Moses from Wigan, Ambrose from Palace to provide a bit of back up.

As for outgoing players, we surely have to see the end of Agyemang. What a drain on resources he has been.

Clyne will go to a better club then us... I don't think he's as good as everyone makes out but he's still young...

Did I hear Matt Upson wants to come back to London? Not settled up north, but it depends on whether O'Neil wants to keep him I guess. Same with Crouchy, I would still like him to come back, great hold up player just what we need.

Bent? They paid £24Mill for him so I cant see us getting him at all, Defoe even more likely than him!

I would like to think the Bassong agreement is all but wrapped up after he was so close in the summer. They will buy another CB so by default will allow him to leave.

I would also love to see Krancjar come to us. He is a top class player and one that would shine with regularity if played week in week out. He hardly gets a look in at Spurs so surely must fancy a move. Look at last year when Modric was out, he started 2 games and scored a blinder in each match to get the wins. Would be worth his weight in gold.

As for a striker.... not overly excited by the talk of Johnson or Zamora... Defoe would be a great signing and again with a need to play before the summer, it could happen.

Three players of that ilk throughout the team would add massively to the squad.

I think then the only issue would be a wide player to replace Mackie, who for me is just a modern day Gareth Ainsworth, full of passion and 110% effort, but not a lot of product. I think we should be looking for a LB to allow Traore to play LM, which would then allow SWP to play RM where he's best and can beat a man and whip in a cross. Look at the Newcastle game, he was amazing and since has been played out of position more often than not so always cuts back on his right foot and passes back. Let him use a trick and his pace to get past a FB and deliver balls for HH and Bothroyd....The fact he's being sacrificed for Mackie seems very shortsighted. Don't get me wrong, i like Mackie, just thinks we'd be more productive with a change and he could be dangerous off the bench if chasing teams against tired defenders....
