Seems to be a lot of people moaning on here that we got well beat away to Liverpool.

Sorry but I remember when we were last in the Premiership during what many would call our glory years and almost without fail every time we went to one of the big clubs we would barely have a shot on goal and failed to meaningfully compete. Bottom line is these clubs have vastly superior squads and the best managers in the game and yes they will play us and expect to win comfortably.

I'm pretty upbeat on season so far especially when you consider the debacle of a summer we had and starting the season with a squad who were possibly poorer than the one we had in the Championship last season. At times we have played some great football. It was only a couple of weeks ago we were winning at Stoke and giving a fantastic Man City side a real scare.

All we have really lacked, odd few games aside, has been the ability to finish off sides. We had the better of Villa, Newcastle and West Brom but just couldn't get that extra goal. Ok I'm sure there will be occasions over the season that go the other way but even so we are building the necleus of a good side.

January is coming. Add in a couple of defenders, a winger and a striker and we should have midtable standard side. Not bad considering first season back.

We only ever won there once before and have lost there with a better players than we have now.
Still, some people seem to think we should have come up after a decade and a half in the wilderness, not had a proper transfer window but still roll over these teams with a predominantly championship standard squad

Sack the board, sack the manager and while we are at it sck the tea lady too.

Spot on. Especially about the tea lady. Leaves the tea bag in way too long.

Agree bluehoop I'd be surprised if we'd managed to accumulate 10 points over all the visits we've made to Anfield, in what 20 years.
ps:That bloody tea lady her tactics are crap agree time to go

              A very good post!

Though I feel a bit downbeat sitting here partly writing some stuff and partly watching Norwich against Newcastle.
Ps. Half an hour ago I witnessed how easy Swansea outplayed Fulham in the second half. ouch.

                Good post Fox.

Very true & posts like that do make you realise how far we've come.

Personally I'm delighted with how things are going BUT I must admit my main frustration from Saturday was our lack of effort / creativity in the first half when I know we can compete at a much much higher level ie; Chelsea, Man City, Stoke, Newcastle.

I'm confident we will be more than ok this season so once NW has had a good trade up in January then I'm sure we will see a higher level of performance on a more regular basis.

Let's not forget WE outplayed Man City for large parts of that game, we controlled the most one side nil nil of the season against Newcastle, battered Villa in the first half, outplayed a Stoke side on their own patch who showed yesterday that they are a match for the likes of Spurs and we outplayed Wolves and pretty much dominated against WBA.

Finishing is what sorts the men from the boys at this level and other than HH we are lacking in that department. Put that right in January and we will survive comfortably. But please remember, no matter that Swansea and Norwich have had their good days, so have we and there will be more to come

                    Agreed.
We looked far more dangerous when DJ came on as a substitute as well.
