Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes

I'd like QPR to sign Pavlechenko, Bassong and Ridgewell in January.
They have all had good and bad games in the Premiership, but they would do well for QPR.
Pavlechenko or Bothroyd - Apart from a couple of goals Bothroyd has not really done much to justify his (rumoured) £30k per week.
Bassong or Gabbidon - Bassong had a great season with Newcastle before joining Spurs. and the latter has been inconsistant (he could have done better with the WBA equaliser and his own goal agaisnt Bolton was easily avoidable). I think a few other goals conceded or close calls could be partly or solely down to him too. And judging from his recent history, he is also likely to suffer another injury any time soon.
Ridgewell would be a better choice than Hill or Hall for the squad and could even play at left back allowing Traore to move up the field where his pace and crossing can be better utilised.

I agree, Traore left mid i'm very confident with him there, if we could get Ridgewell in happy daysUnder Les Ferdinand:

That was part of my thinking. bale was ordinary for Spurs as a left back and in fact played about 30 times before he was on a m,tavh winning side there.
But since Redknapp moved him up the pitch he has been a revelation.

I'm looking at his scoring record and the level he's scored goals at.
I also work with a lot of Spurs fans near Harlow, probably about 10 of them go to games. They all rate the bloke, and until Adebayor turned up they would have played him a lot more. Most preferred Pavylechenko to Crouch.
I also seem to remember that Bolton fans couldn't wait to see the back of Helgusson. And that was 2 years ago. They couldn't stand him.
Traore was considered not good enough by many Arsenal fans.
Ask a Leicester fan what they thought of DJ Campbell. Then ask a Blackpool fan.
Man City fans loved SWP. But plenty of Chelsea fans were delighted when he left them, including my best mate at work. He couldn't stand him.
Ask a Spurs fan what he/she thinks of Darren Bent, you wont get many who rated him. Would we like him at Rangers?
That's before we get to what we were told by "expert Palace fans" about Derry & Hill. Christ, those two were finished. Not even good enough for The Championship.
Let's go further back... Paul Furlong. "Lazy useless sod". (From many Chelsea fans)
Not dismissing anyones opinions here, QPR fans or not. But I'll hold fire on labelling a player of his pedigree as "not good enough" on the basis of a few opinions from a handful of Spurs fans.
It was only two years ago that lot were praying Gareth Bale wouldn't play, because they couldn't win a game with him in the team.
Anyway, we'll see, IF he signs.
He'll probably p*ss off back to Russia anyway. Maybe he doesn't feel too appreciated in England. Apart from on Fifa12."Trust In Warnock" - Don't just type it - Do It.

Don't know where we are drinking yet mate. We are leaving at about 10'ish so I can buzz you when I get up there if you like? You stopping up there or heading back after the game? I'm buzzing and can't wait fella.
How's the wrist from the pounding you gave the Russian the other week in the ring?

I'm sorry but a striker who has scored 69 goals in 141 game for Spartak and 20 in 75 games for Spurs in the Premiership, add to that 20 in 49 for his national side will do for me.
Got to love it when people he's rubbish cos my mate said this or my mate said that. Football's about opinion's and I'll make my own based on what I see. Watched him about 8 times for Spurs and I know for a fact he's better than what we've got. I remember reading on this board all the slating Heider got over the last few seasons and wonder what those same fans are saying now about him.Originally posted by MattyRangers View PostSuperb post Dazzer

Tbf, being "very average" for Spurs is slightly different to only being an average player for us. Spurs are a top PL side. Personally, I think Bassong would be a huge improvement on Gabbidon and cant really imagine a better quality CB that we could realistically get. We arent going to be able to get payers that are labelled "quality" at a club like Spurs.
Also, Pav has people split; I myself have 4 or 5 Spurs ST holder mates and a couple think hes poor and a couple think he is a really good striker that will score you goals given a run of games.
Again, in comparison to Spurs (who have the likes of Adebayor & RVDV to choise from), he may well not be viewed highly rated, but for us, I think he would be a great signing.
I tend to believe that the label "confidence player" fits Pavluchencho.
But like many of you point out; the question is how such a buy will affect DJ! To what extent will it limit his time on the field?
Personally, I would like to see the pair of them in games together.:pleasantsuprise::shy:Last edited by Shania; 09-12-2011, 03:14 PM.QPR
