Spurs fans in general don't rate bassong... I'm
Not overly impresses by him and I don't think pav would suit us

Had similar comments from a spurs mate of mine too.

He said Pav has been poor, not a team player, loses possession a lot, no football brain.

And he described Bassong as 'very average' and not really good enough for prem. slow to react?

Also said Defoe is going no-where coz 'arry likes him too much, will keep him as a 'super-sub'. Plus it looks like Abebayor is off elsewhere

Warnock can buy who he wants and I would always support them.. I'm sure bassong would be good with a run of games.

Tbf, being "very average" for Spurs is slightly different to only being an average player for us. Spurs are a top PL side. Personally, I think Bassong would be a huge improvement on Gabbidon and cant really imagine a better quality CB that we could realistically get. We arent going to be able to get payers that are labelled "quality" at a club like Spurs.

Also, Pav has people split; I myself have 4 or 5 Spurs ST holder mates and a couple think hes poor and a couple think he is a really good striker that will score you goals given a run of games.

Again, in comparison to Spurs (who have the likes of Adebayor & RVDV to choise from), he may well not be viewed highly rated, but for us, I think he would be a great signing.

Bassong is better, younger , less injury prone than Gabbidon.
Pav is a full international with champions league, euro champ, and world cup experience. again better than anything we've got!

Thats Progress. Given runs and treated as a starter players perform and play completely differently...just look at traore

Arsenal fans didn't rate Traore, Sunderland fans & most others didn't rate Ferdinand.

Considering Spurs are looking at players worth £20m+ I'd take no notice. For us Bassong would be quality I'm sure of that.

I am well pleased Arsenal saw Traore as average and let him go.

You need to take into account where each team is.

Spuds are one of the top teams in Europe now let alone England, and yes compare to what they currently have these two may be poor. We are not at that level as you need to move up in stages, if NW thinks there will improve our squad then thats good enough for me.

Dont forget fans from Ass and sunderland were telling us AF and AT were much good and were not good enough for the PL, and both of these have been superb.
One for all.... and all for one

Would like Ridgewell from Brum would be cheaper as they are skinters and has probably played more games at PL level and played regular this season

He had a run in the team at Newcastle and they rate him, good enough for to Spuds pay 8mill or some such like?

PRIME EXAMPLE - TAARABT wasn't good for Spurs but look what he did for us last season. Both of those players simply haven't hit the ground running in the Spurs team but who says they won't be good enough for us? We are not a top Premiership side, people have to remember that. These players are better than what we have on our books so why not. More importantly this is all gossip at the minute so until NW show his cards is it really worth us going around in circles?
