Yes! We should go for him, he's unsettled being around those strange people up there and probably would love the chance to come back to London.

Would be a good addition to the squad, Anton and Upson could be quite solid.
      Kept the faith!

Always thought he's massively overated personally, however, he must have something to have got in the England squad, so yes worth taking if on the cheap.

no thanks,we already have enough injury prone centre halfs in the squad. just because he would be cheap doesnt mean he will be a good aquisition to the squad.

I would rather get Bassong or Onuhua or someone llike that first but if we cannot then maybe Upson he is a good player but is he as good as Gabbidon??

He had his chance by the sound of it.

Thing is, most centre backs are injury prone nowadays... I can't think of many top-level prem CBs who aren't perennially injured??? Must be something about pace and movement of modern game that wears them out. At this level I reckon you need 4 decent CBs in your squad on the basis 2 will be injured at any one time.... be good to have a utility player like Phil Jones I s'pose but that sort of talent is rare and expensive! Upson would be okay-ish I think but I wouldn't want to pay very much for him. Sorry to dwell in the past but I'm still puzzled why we let Kaspars go - I think he's as good as Upson and probably less injury prone.

Matthew Upson might be worth a 6 month contract, but nothing more.

to be fair he has never really let us down when he played for England but when he play for his club he does have some shocking bad games

Still say to this day I disagree with this. The first goal was totally Terry's fault, completley misjudged the long ball/goal kick (cant remember where it came from tbf!) and left Upson on his own.

He also scored our goal (albeit more of a "sh1t the balls hit me face.... hang on, thats a goal!" jobby ).

Seems to get a bit of a bum deal for England IMO and seems to almost fall into the "scapegoat" category.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Brede Hangeland is not injury prone.
