I'd like to see Taarabt come on for Mackie to make it a 4-2-3-1 if we need a spark in midfield but that doesn't look likely.
I'd go with ten of that lineup. Interesting you see Mackie in a forward role. I'd personally rather have DJ alongside HH.

Would help if he was played in his correct position.

Thought Mackie although great attitude & effort is extremely limited & would of proffered Taarabt or Smith against them lot today.

Agree Ric. You can't fault his desire but Smiths quality would have suited better today.

If Mackie is that good, why did we buy SWP? To be Mackie's backup, or to play out of position on the left wing?

I thought Mackie was very ordinary yesterday.
I love his attitude and effort, but that alone does not make him a Premiership player IMO.
He's lightweight and doesn't score enough, yes he's got a couple of assists recently, but yesterday was down to Barton's delightful lob/chip to HH and less to do with Jamie running down a blind alley and losing the ball just before.

            I hope I'm proved wrong.

I said many times he is not the old SWP and has problem in balancing himslef when he takes the ball. Notice most of his shots get blocked by opponents defence. I would have said that even If his goal was allowed. I am looking at it as a neutral.

I find him a strange player - he never looks like he has the ball under control....and I don't think he does. Yet his elastic legs and pace seem to help him blunder through a lot.

I think he gives the ball away so much though....and why do we insist on booting long to him when he could be an extra in the Hobbit.

Our midfield is much stronger with SWP, Faurlin, Barton, Traore in it, but no, NW thinks it's better to unbalance the whole thing. I like NW, but sometimes his tactics leave me puzzled.

                  Ok,who am I to question Warnock´s choices, but I agree with you 100 %.
I clearly want SWP on the right wing.

SWP is a very frustrating player. He never seems when he is running with the ball that he has it very close to him and loses the ball a lot hitting it five yards ahead of himself and bolting after it. Mackie was good yesterday for about 60minutes but he didn't see much of the ball second half. People say about him scoring goals but SWP has not scored this season either.

I always think SWP should change his boots, not because of the colour but because he keeps slipping or losing his feet. Shame about the goal, he picked the ball up right in front of me and I could see he was onside with my dodgy eyesight.

You could tell SWP was carrying a knock, shouldn't of had his goal ruled out.

I get the feeling that this team is almost there, with one or two addtions we will have a very competitive side that will hopefully be alble to finish chances and keep clean sheets.

He is actually too fast for the ball.
