Personally, the day after Lady Di died in that Paris car crash when being chased by papparazzi, I stopped buying newspapers, and I haven't bought one since. The only thing believable in a paper is the date on the front page.

It's not the newspapers fault really, they are only exploiting the markets hunger for gossip stories. It's us humans that are to blame, reading this stuff to give us a glimpse into the lifestyles of celebs, in order to escape our own stressful lives for a few minutes, and dream. Its just the way the world is now.
Have to say that pretty much sums it up for me mate. The world nower days is a very nosey place, and the people of today's addiction to reality TV & social networking shows, to me anyway, that it'll only get worse.

I, personally, have deleted my Facebook account as to avoid becoming too much a part of this.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Paradigm Shift TV is a good place to start. Its certainly not mainstream media.

No idea at all mate. I don't have any friends to hear this through, I have never discovered the internet, my mobile is still one of those bricks with no access to any news, I do not have a job to learn these views through colleagues and I live in a cupboard 24 hours a day, apart from every second sunday where I am allowed an hour to muck out said cupboard and brush my teeth.

Ok, I lied, but it was a nice story.

As a nation, I am not alone in this. Many take my stance, so it's wrong to tar us all with that brush of loving a gossip. Gossip is one thing, but a scandal to ruin another person doesn't interest me in the slightest. I wouldn't wish this sort of tragedy on any man, regardless of how much I hated them.

Haha, I swear this phone lives a stitch up. I can't even remember what I was meant to say, but not even I'm that big headed to call myself a nation.

I would doubt it if it was just a bloke on his own, but the fact he had a wife and kids could make such a revelation unbearable i would guess, as it could destroy their lives.... If true, maybe he didn't want them to suffer for his actions and thought this would be a way to avoid that. who knows. If that was the reason, let's hope nothing is published on the subject, but no doubt it would be.

That said, we know nothing and shouldn't entertain any Rumour on the subject given it's so shocking and sensitive. As respect to him, we should avoid speculation because by repeating / discussing it we are all guilty of worsening the situation.

The fact is, we all feel sorry for him and his family, but equally we all want to know why he would do such a thing. Well, fortunately we have people working for us to find this out, and they're called journalists. Think about it for a second, why do we need to know?

It is because we can, it's too easy.
We llive in the modern media driven world, and the information is out there so we can compare our lives with others peoples lives, often famous or wealthy people.

Ultimately, the blame is materialism and Capitalism. Just my opinion.

Ahhhhhhh, Capitalism, the new evil of the world. I suppose it would be better if we were all communists, as then we would have no right/desire/need to know what is happening, as the people in charge would just tell us what they think we sould know.

I think "social" media/networking is far far worse than the print media. Seems any Tom, **** or Harry can put stuff out on the web/internet without any censure or regard for truth, fact or evidence.

Mate, I wasnt having a dig, just that.you are one of the better informed people on this site (i think!) but you said you dont buy newspapers.

Arent the other means of getting info, i.e. word of mouth, friends, social networking and the net, just as likely to be full of crap as the papers...?

i just watched a feed on the net where a jumbo jet landed on the back of a pick up truck....is this to be believed?

The point i'm trying to make, is that i dont think any of the sources is more realible than the other ? So where do you go for info and what makes you believe its true?
