I believe that when Faurlin signed, either Pete or Scott Jones said this boy will be playing for Argentina in 5 years and worth over 5x times how much he signed for. If we strengthen up front and consolidate ourselves he is only going to get better so no, we shouldn't sell him
Dont think we paid anyfing for him....so 5x nothing is ..
If they said give us Faurlin & £3m for Defoe what would you say?
Personally, I'd tell them exactly where to go. Faurlin is 25 (best years ahead of him), new to the PL and already looking very comfortable at this level and so, IMO, we would regret letting him go for such a fee when he has the potential to be a £20mill player in a year or so.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
Was going to ask same question mate. Presume people just making assumptions?

Totally agree. We need to get that selling club mentality outta our system.

Spot on Matty.
Faurlin has the potential to really flourish in the prem and if he continues to do so, i'm sure it's not long before he's called up to the Argentina squad. May have sounded far fetched a year ago, but if he continues to make headlines in what is regarded as the top league in the world, why would they not?
Perhaps when he's there he can tap up Messi.....
As for Defoe, he is a good striker but not the be all and end all. If he was he'd play far more regularly for his many clubs. I have always felt he's a bit too single minded as opposed to a team player, but i would still like us to sign him if the price is right, but i would not offer faurlin and cash no chance. As said, in a year Faurlin will be worth more i'm sure.
Defoe has to move in January to a club where he will get regular games if he has any England ambitions and to stand any chance of making the squad for the Euros.
We would be one of the clubs he would seriously look at.
