The best thing for his career would be to stay with us and guarantee himself first team football for at least another year, maybe two. After which, when he could (if he continues to improve) be talked about by others as one of the best players of his type in the league his stock would be far greater, we'd get a better deal, he'd get a better contract and he'd be more likely to get first team football at one of those clubs, or others come the time.

If he goes I think it will be spurs for pretty big bucks. I also think that given the good relationship between the two clubs/managers we should get access to some pretty decent players on return. Problem is - Ali is worth his weight in gold. Hopefully we don't end going down the same road after we sold Les and we adapt appropriately.

Under the old regime, our top players were at risk of leaving but I'm not sure under Tony & Amit.
What makes us different to a lot of teams that go up and also some existing premiership teams is we can and more importantly appear happy to pay massive wages.
Since Tony and Amit took over, the thing that really surprises (in a good way) is that nearly all the players we have been linked with, wages have never been an issue, every press article always says we can pay top wages unlike say spurs who seem to have a strict cap on wages.
The fact we are comfortably paying massive wages to Joey and SWP IMHO will make it hard for our best best players to leave.
Any move on AF will be resisted by the club and IMHO players will not move for better salary.
As a premiership footballer, we're a great place to be at the moment. Great part of the country, exciting owners who can take you to the odd grand prix, wages not a problem, being part of something exciting. Imagine being invited out for a night out with Tony and Amit gotta be better than a beer with the glaziers. Unless a silly offer comes, I just don't think you could be more comfortable than being a permanent fixture at LR especially with Lord Warnock at the helm. Our management board just comes across as down to earth, loyal and honest which even in the world of premiership football makes a big difference especially to players who are well grounded and just good blokes like AF.
Clearly if things start going wrong on the pitch and we become relegation fodder then the vultures will start circling but if we carry on doing well just
think it will be hard to prise our top players away from LR.
