Even Warnock said the Everton result was a freak. We only had one shot and played a side with fans in a state of mutiny on the day. The flip side to that was Bolton the week before and Wigan just after.

Richard I'd take 17th we all would, just saying we should aim higher.
Main priority is to stay up.

Mate imo Bolton was also a freak result we were better than them 1st half until
their CB decided to score the goal of his career, then a huge deflected goal and an own goal distorted the scoreline. They've hardly won since.
Wigan 2 deflected shots 2 goals and we hit the woodwork 3 times.
        All about opinions ain't it!

Agreed, so perhaps people should think about us achieving the main target first, survival. As I've said, once that's achieved anything else is a bonus. See where we are and what happens when we've got 40-42 points on the board.

Sometimes it's about opinions, other times it's about results. The fact Bolton cantered to a 4-0 despite us having so much of the ball and have been awful thereafter says enough. Then again if Hill hadn't got sent off on the 89th minute we could've staged a late comeback!

Finish 17th and I'm very happy. End of the day yes we are 9th but there's currently only 6 points between us and the relegation zone.

People are entitled to opinions about players. Some people think Rio is the man, I don't.

I remember the endless debates at games about Simon Barker. Some thought he was good, others didn't.

Reading some of the posts on here, you'd think if we come 17th, there'd be mass hari-kiri on Shepherds Bush Green!

We have beaten a top 4 team this year and stoke away, so we can't be that bad.Man u got done 6 at home they had a lot of ball.

Totally agree and I think we have the best side for almost 20 years. My comment was more on the depth in the squad of we lose some of our new additions to injury and suspension. I think we can cope with the likes of Hill, Derry and even Fitz and Orr 'filling in', but not all at once.

Actually, it might come to that next week. Hill played this week, Orr came on because LY got injured, and Derry will be filling in for Barton.

Let's hope nothing happens to Gabbidon or Ferdinand this week in training

Results like the fantastic ones so far and the performances against citeh will certainly help with any potential players coming in January. I'd like to think that with the right strengthening in January we could acheive a top half finish although if you guaranteed me a 17th position I'd rip your farking arm socket out
Now imagine if Heidar stays fit and in this form with Defoe or similar next to him. Wow
