From what I have read in the past, the problem with you is that although we all know you don't rate Taraabt, think he's just a selfish prima donna and have wanted him to fail from the day he arrived, you keep denying anything of the sort. I'd like to believe you Paul, but as you are the only one disagreeing with that point of view which is held by everybody else who keep reminding you of it, how do I know who to believe? It's a dilemna.

That is a very good example or perceptions and thankfully I know you know that is not true. But that has nought to do with people being banned for arguing with Pete about Paladini, or being sued for libel, or have I missed the point ?

just my pennies worth, with the removal of gp and with it the endof an era most would like to forget we need to move on, i personally think people should be reinstated if banned and given a final chance , nothing wrong with healthy disagreement as long as articulated well, if posters come on and revert back to real abusive behaviour then theyve been warned and off they go again. dont think anything wrong with controversial posters as long as people show an element of respect.

seriously guys were now at a point where rangers are back and the feel good factor is stronger then ever lets not now find something else to fight over, as what that points to are posters who dont like positives just fraction and would suggests that says more about them and their personalities

Very well said and if people realise there are two sides to a coin and people may not agree with them all the time, things would never get out of control and the debate would be healthy.

So what your saying, is if I say something really bad on here about somoene and they then want a pound of flesh, WATRB will get sued for libel not me ?

I'm no legal expert, but I don't think that is how it works............ I think it is more along the lines of my thoughts and opinions are mine alone and nothing to do with WATRB and somewhere in small print it should say that.

When someone says something on ITV about someone and later are sued for Libel, does ITV get sued, as they aired the interview or does the person who said it get sued ? So I would say stop using "libel insurance" as some sort of reason for you to close down a thread about something you don't like or agree with.

Agreed, one ( the poster and website) cannot escape liability for defamation by putting the libel behind a prefix such as "I have been told that ..." or "It is rumoured that ...", and then asserting that it was true that one had been told or that it was in fact being rumoured.

In the law of libel, the hearsay statement is the same as a direct statement.

So another urban myth bits the dust.

Operators of websites have to date had to pay up under libel laws and as this site can be read in the USA and cases have been won there, one would not want to be sued and be subject to their punitive awards even if their libel laws are weak

Scott never engaged in debate. As far as I could see he gave it the big 'I Am' and spent much of his considerable free time wallowing in self-importance (how we laughed at a caption of himself with pictured with Gianni and Pete as 'VIP fans') hurling insults and threatening people, especially on other boards from the safety of his bedroom. He was then flabbergasted and reacted especially badly and with more bile upon discovering that sentient people thought he was a m.oron as a result.

If all the banned (and some current active posters) can just at least meet us halfway, and knock lines like your opening line on the head in future, then I totally agree that people should be given the chance to return to this board and "move on".
