I got the impression it was more something he was thinking about long term rather than something he had a fixed plan for immediately - might be wrong tho.

At the end of the day a new stadium build in London will cost fortunes regardless of size. To that end, there probably isn't a huge amount of difference (relatively speaking) between building a 25-30k stadium to that of a 40k.

If we had a 25k stadium it would not be enough becasue once we have seats avaiulable and they can play around with ticket deals / subsidies etc, corporate deals among other things they will soon generate more fans, so 25k would be incredibly shortsighted.

30k is more realistic, but hey, they will not want to fund further expansion in the future if we ever exceeded that, so why not go 40k from the off to absorb the costs in the initial build. To keep the atmosphere right and look good on the cameras they could even section off the uppermost rows until there was ever a need to breach into that space. They could do this subtly or use it for advertising.

Also we need to bear in mind we could probably carve out some pretty good savings when building compared to others as we have the biggest Steel person on the planet as part owner, and i'm sure they could leverage some perks from other massive construction companies who could get involved by offereing discounts on their steel or something similar in the future....

will take 3-4 years to build a new stadium, so needs to be planned quite soon if we are getting Becks to sign in the Jan window.
He would put 10k on our gate, where will we put them ??

Bit disappointed that few cannot seem to grasp the intent off the original thread. Maybe its because its easier to discuss what you'd like your shiny new stadium to look like or you just don't know W12 that well!

Was hoping for a more stimulating debate TBH...the point of discussion is where to locate not what the thing will look like!

Agree, its disgraceful of people to stray from the subject like that, you'd never catch me talking about shiny stadiums, and as you can clearly see from my post #15 I have attempted to get the thread back on track again, but alas no intelligent response to mine either.

I think there are two other possible sites, one at the top of the Scrubs where EWS trains are based there is loads of derelict land. Plus slightly further a field in Park Royal the land left over by the old Guinness building. Are their not options opposite Westfields behind the station too??

Of the options stated old BBC site would be ideal

Not too bothered where in West London it is, as long as it's bigger and better than the khazi known as Stamford Bridge......
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Would love to see us be the first club to really keep what is great about the old stadiums with a modern twist, rather than these new corporate stadiums that have no atmosphere.

Scrubs would be the best option, but I thought it was owned by the government/MOD?

Looks like it might be the old White City site:

"One part of that plan involves moving to a new stadium and Fernandes confirms the club have identified soon-to-be-former BBC premises at White City as the preferred site. “It’s true, but it’s one hell of a job,” he says. “Without a doubt I think QPR could fill a 40,000-seat stadium, and a bit more. I’ve only looked at White City. Logically, I’d like to stay where we were born, so we haven’t looked at other sites.”

TOPICS of conversation are not hard to come by with Tony Fernandes, the gregarious Malaysian entrepreneur who recently added Premier League football club Queens Park Rangers to an empire that includes AirAsia and Formula One racing team Lotus. In a whirlwind half-hour he explains his recipe for business success, discusses QPR becoming bigger than Liverpool [...]

I seem to recall that those sites have been earmarked as part of the HS2 project so I doubt it will be there!
