This is Scotland we are talking about. I was a bit of a player in my day and got a call out of the blue from the Scottish FA who were looking for players days before they announced the sqaud for a WC qualifier and asked if it was true my Nan was Scottish.

'Yes', I replied excitedly, 'She is!'

'Great', said the man on the phone, 'I think you can be a big help to us...Do you have her number because we think she could do a job for us at centre half'.
