Us, norwich and swansea are all in a relegation scrap along with blackburn, wigan, bolton (forget the other 2) but said 8 teams in all.

Me i disagree, in january we will strengthen and with the way we have come out playing against some of the teams so far i don't think we'll be in there at all (well at least i hope not).

Agree. However 80s, you need to add QPR 1 Chelsea 0 onto your sig.

Norwich are ahead of us by 1 point and Swansea are level with us. They've both played 2 of the big 5 where we have only played 1.

At this stage we are in a relegation battle.

It's all well and good saying we will strengthen in January but we have to remain in touch with the other teams

We are in a relegation scrap, along with everyone else until they get to a safe points tally. We have signed a few good players and may strengthen, but still have many Championship players. There have been teams with much better squads than us on paper get relegated, so don't take anything for granted. West ham with their "talented crop", Leeds with stupidly expensive squad and more recently Newcastle with a similar high value squad......

If we lose Saturday and other results go against us, we will be just 3 points off the drop. It was always going to be this way.

Fair point I think we're in a scrap with those mentioned, but bearing in mind we,ve not
been firing on all cylinders, to be sitting on 12 points at this stage gives us a good chance of going on and surviving

Relegation scrap after what is it like 10 games? Give me a break
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

They are probably right. There is a league within the league this season in the Premiership. We are in that relegation fight yes but I think our chances are probably a little brighter than some of the others. Come January teams like Bolton, Wigan and Blackburn all have experinece of fighting for the right to stay in the Premiership and therefore know how to go about their business to stay there again. We will sign players that's a given but will they make us better and can Neil get them to bed in for the fight in time who knows. My real worry is that we have lost points to both Bolton and Wigan, dropping 5 points again Blackburn and Bolton at home. This means we really need to take points at their places. A lot of If's and But's I know BUT taking 3 points against Chelsea was MASSIVE because that has given us back 3 points on the likes of all the clubs mentioned because I think its safe to say none of them will take a point off Chelsea this season, they won't mess up again like that!

To that list I think you could add Wolves (my cert to go down), Fulham, West Brom, Sunderland and Everton if they are again forced to sell in January.

If we take 12 points from every 10 games we will stay up

As things stand, we've only had two top notch performances so far this season - Wolves and Newcastle. We scraped a win against Everton and battled to a deserved win against our Noisy Class-less neighbours, we played well for 40 minutes v Villa without ever looking like scoring and have been pretty abject v Spuds, Fulham, Wigan and Blackburn. We are in a run of games vs good teams and, even accounting for the great win la couple of weekends ago are not in great form.

Norwich and Swansea, by contrast, are yet to be out-classed in a game and Swansea especially are beating the teams in our relegation mini-league.

No illusions from me, we ARE in a relegation battle; the points total looks fine at the moment, but three more defeats on the bounce (v probable as we've got City(h), Sjoke (a) then Norwich (a)) and it won't.

Doom and Gloom I know, but, outside a fully fit first XI, we don't have much and haven't really done it for 90 minutes with the possible exception of Wolves (a).

So, yes, I think I am right to be worried...

Someone stated last week that Swansea have only picked up their points at home, done nothing away, unlike us.

Also we've played two of the big 5.
