  • A few thoughts on yesterday, NW and Spurs fans

Rangers were out in force at Liverpool Street station before the game and the atmosphere both inside and out of the Wetherspoons was buzzing. Great singing all round.

We must be by far the loudest and most loyal away support in London, sat with my brother, a Spud, in the North Stand and from there Rangers out sung the home fans by miles. The only time they cheered was after each goal and then they just sat, no jumping, no joy, absolute sh*te support. Even at 3-1 they we all moaning and unhappy with Spurs performance.

Whats with the 'Your sisters your Mum chant' at Barton?, that and the Ledley King song was about all they sung. Even the 'spurs go marching in' was very poor.

When I jumped up as Bothroyd scored noone said anything, unbelievable! I clapped every Kenny save in the second half and was pretty vocal in my support but noone challenged me , couldn't believe it. By the end of the game, to give them their due, half a dozen of them said to me that Rangers had a good second half.

I thought Warnock got it right second half, but surely he knows by now that the 4-2-3-1 formation isn't working in the prem. Adel, for me, needs a confidence boost if NW is going to persist with him, he was shocking. Thought HH was solid, Bothroyd looked better but Gabbidon well off the pace and watching MOTD2 this morning, defensively we were all out of shape. If NW uses a 4-5-1 vs Man City we may keep the score down to 2 or 3, but then we'll never score, and that is going to be a problem, we compete well defensively and in midfield, but really lack quality in the final third.

Overall I thought our performance was pretty good but we do need a goalscorer come January. Our fans were fantastic, as always, and many thanks to those of you who kept a eye on my lad in the upper tier of the away section.
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Have to agree with that. I think a lot of our fans have been pretty harsh on the performance, when in actual fact we played 80 minutes with a CB who is clearly lacking match sharpness and gave them a good game in the 2nd half. We were pretty poor at the back ut Tottenham looked impressive and their wingers were too much for us.

At the end of the season you can count how many teams have taken points off Spurs at WHL on one hand and I think our form is where we will live or die.

Also i'm glad someone else realises that AT is low on confidence. The boy has had a mare in recent weeks, we all know that, he knows that, but we're stuck with him until January at least and most likely until the end of the season. If he gets his confidence and swagger back he could still do something and be a very important player for us.

Not just DG either - Traroe looked well short of 100% to me and Ferdinand seemed to be carrying a leg injury too. A tough ask against Spurs. Add to that we were playing with 9 men as Derry and Adel were just non-existent in the first half so all in all we were lucky to go in just 2 down.....thanks to Paddy and a brave effort from (I think an injured) Ferdinand
