We can't keep carrying him. Time to change the team a bit we looked a totally different team in the second half. Having two strikers was good and gave the Spurs defence something to think about. And Mackie made a difference he may be nowhere near Adel in terms of ability but I would still be picking him purely for his work rate, you can't afford to have a player swanning around throwing his arms in the air at this level.
i dont think he should start games now, the negatives far outweigh the positives so far this season. i know people will say but look at the chelsea game, he put swp with that pass and got drogba sent off (btw he didnt - the fans did, drogba was itching for that sort of challenge) but the constant losing of possession and even worse the lethargic running with the ball.
not being funny, but this aint the championship - people arent gonna stand off you while u roll the ball under your feet as you slowly make your way toward the final 3rd - he needs to be running with that ball, we have to make every possession count and i dont feel with adel in the side that we are.
im not saying i want rid because he does have talent, but its about more than that. As far as im concerned its down to him to now prove that with appearances from the bench etc. Adel has moments of brilliance in him, last season we dominated a lot of the games so he had more opportunities to produce his magic but in the premiership this aint the case as we all know.
Adel lovers feel free to shoot me down, but im not being over critical - just saying how it is.
I think you are spot on. He has talent. He has no guts, no fight. He is unprofessional and I think that will cost him a glittering career. Ultimately he will not work for his success. At Prem level talent on its own is not enough. Plenty have talent. The ones who truly stand out have a work ethic, a team ethic and a resilience when the chips are down.
Adel will be a wasted talent because he thinks he deserves success rather than pissing it away, gambling it away or womanizing.
Rangers fans havent changed then. One defeat and its hunt the scapegoat time. Wigan have lost seven on the trot. Cant imagine what this board would be like if we did the same. Adel has been inconsistent this season but people were singing his praises after Chelsea. We didn't play him against Blackburn and looked very workmanlike without any creative flair. He does have his flaws but so does everyone in the team. Derry for me is now clapped out but he is apparently above criticism - what did he contribute today? He was meant to be the holding midfielder but as shown again on MoTD2 we had nobody in front of the defence first half. But personally I'd stick with Derry till Jan, just like Tabs - because they are the best we have AT THE MOMENT. And even if Tabs is no longer the answer think some fans show a shocking lack of gratitude for the man who more than any other got us promotion.
I think it's pretty much over now for Adel in my opinion.
Neil Warnock has been fantastic for him and has given him an opportunity to show the Premiership (and euro) what he can do and how talented he his, unfortunately Warnock has been let down badly by Adel as it is now obvious that he doesn't have his heart in the club. He is shadow of what he was about.
I think it's a shame as I still believe he can be a top player, but I don't think it will be with us.
No doubt Adel will be sold January and I hope any funds can be used to be a player who wants to play for the shirt.

All the midfield were poor first half, they were all misplacing passes and getting dispossessed.
People see what they choose to see.
As you say, some players are above criticism.

first of all id like to agree with u on derry, he was shocking. However i will say in a few games hes been very good. adel hasnt been very good once - that is a fact. its not about a scapegoat, thats just you being defensive on his part. too many players didnt turn up in that first half, tactics werent right etc. i think we can all agree on that.
also it is not about a lack of gratitude - at the end of the day the bloke aint performing... i dont care if it was him, paddy kenny or whoever. 10 games in and i cant say ive been impressed with him once. hes played ok in a couple games but overall he's been pony. i personally dont believe in the form he is in, that he deserves to play... thats all im saying, let him prove he deserves a spot in this team
I got slated pre season for saying Tarb's aint good enough for us in the Prem and now look at us..playing better ithout him
must admit though...Derry has surprised me..still not totally convinced at this level, but doing better than i thought....still ...big teams yet to come !!
we'lll see...

Fair play mate you were right on that, but at that time he had just finished a superb season in which he contributed hugely to getting us promoted and so , deservedly so, people were willing to give him a chance in the PL. You cant just write a player off before hes even played in the league.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

You don't think Adel is good enought for the Prem. Fair enough. Its a point of view. What I was criticising was people saying things like "Adel is sh*te" etc and how he should "get lost". That is lack of gratitude and over-reacting. Its not clear that Clint Hill, Shaun Derry, Jamie Mackie and several others are good enough long term for us in the Prem. But rather than moaning and destroying the already fragile confidence of players perhaps we should try something really novel, and build them up. Who knows - they might even start to play better.
