he's not running at players anymore. had a couple of chances today to run at pace at the defence but he didnt.
    he's on a low, a real low.
he needs to pick himself up - at the moment he's as useful as a yogurt.

      That too.

Don't get me wrong - I'd love it if he set the world alight at this level. But it's like playing with 10 men a lot of the time.

Of course - that's alright when you are surrounded by the players that used to surround Cantona for example (not saying that AT can hold a candle to Cantona) - but WTF?!

      Sort it out son.

He needs an arm around him, but is in his eyes, being criticized by everyone including his own team-mates.I think he's scared to try anything.

Yeah agreed he's clearly talented no1 would deny that but unfortunately we are not in a position where we can carry a player for the whole game all the time! I'd take Mackie over him at the moment because then at least you have 11 players working as a team, it's hard enough at this level without effectively playing with 10 men all the time!

I feel sorry for him. Everyone is turning against him and this is just putting more pressure on him. I find it funny that some people only criticise him and no one else and I think the only reason people aren't saying nice things about him is because they don't want to be classed as the 'glory hunting taarabt fans' or something like that. He has shown signs of his talent like against Newcastle and we are still early in the season so give him time. Think we should all chant and sing for him like we used to instead of slating him.

His confidence is shot.

He is being tied into a system which stops him doing what he does best.
Still up with around 82-83% pass completion rate, comparable to, and better than, the other midfielders.
Needs to now be Faurlin and Barton as CM's, Taarabt a free role behind a striker and SWP/Smith out wide (sorry Mackie -- you don't read the game well enough to anticipate, so your speed is being wasted as you are always a yard behind by the time you realise you need to move).
Much as I have grown to like Derry, today showed that his lack of pace is going to cost us.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

                Totally with you there.
I had a bloke behind me who couldn't WAIT to slate AT at every opportunity, but didn't say a word when Faurlin, Derry or Barton messed up or were dispossessed (in the 1st half, quite a lot).
                Selective vision.

He could be such an asset, but you can see him floundering through lack of moral support, from the fans and, I suspect, the team, and even Neil Warnock (who seems to be pandering to others this season?)

If this team got on and worked together, including AT, we could be a lot more comfortable and consistent. AF, JB and AT in the middle would be a great central midfield by anyone's standards -- if they work together.

Moral support? The guy left at half time during the Fulham game! He needs to pull his bloody socks up a bit and get on with it! This is his chance to prove that he can play at the highest level, 10 games gone so far and he's yet to prove anything! I really hope he does prove that he's a class player but why the hell do people feel the need to make excuses for him? He's got exactly the same opportunities as every other player at the club!

Many seem to think NW only plays 4-2-3-1 to accomodate Adel.

                        Not entirely true -

It also allows his to accomodate Barton, Derry & Faurlin.

4-4-2 does not let him play all 3. Barton is wasted out wide.
4-4-2 means dropping either Derry or Faurlin.

id try the 4-4-2 out next game, dropping derry & taarabt but i dont think it will happen - well maybe adel will be dropped but think derry will play. i agree with u though barton is poor out wide - he needs to be in the middle.

If they work together. That's exactly the problem when he does have the ball he simply does not work.

Maybe taraabt has spent so long not passing to his team mates that he doesn't actually know how!!!
