I do agree, but I still believe that if we're gonna attract more players on a big wage, we will need to move. Other than calling it 'HQ', it's a good post.

Good post, but you're getting boring now. So you don't mind paying £50 to be stuck behind a pillar, have your legs crushed, take until after the half time break to be served (that is unless you want to leave early), have people climbing all over you that do leave early, become part of the bottleneck of people trying to get in the ground who are all trying to get in before kick off, need i go on. Yes we would all love to stay at LR but we also want to see the club grow and be able to compete at the top level (and i'm not just talking prem lge). Do you not want that?

I'm not arsed about all that 80's. It's part and parcel.

My thoughts are based on the fact we're gonna have to grow. It's a shame as it will kill it, but it's what needs to, and will happen.

orig post was good and spot on..if we want to stand still and just survive..

In 5-10 years, could you see barca, inter etc coming to LR!!!

I love our ground as Sihte as it is..but we need to move - if only to save my legs when i visit 3 times a year !!

It will be a fortress for the next few years whilst we consolidate and establish ourselves, but after that, if we want to progress we will have to move...

for eg..my 2 klids have thier school sports days in a 40,000 seater stadium....who would want toconme to LR as a serious pro...

Have you ever played footy at LR? i have and let me tell you its carp!!.. I would liken it to playing at Brentford..and that was bad....

Seriously,we won the important game, lets hope we can attract the players that wil help us win the others.......

New stadium is the way forward me thinks!!!

              sorry

I asked first. Seeing as you'd made the first mention of proper Rangers, I wondered if you had a set of criteria before someone could be determined worthy of being called 'proper Rangers'.

Half-English, half-Welsh ftw Best of both worlds.

A propa Ranger is someone who dreams of the beautiful past, supports them now AND looks out for their future.

Unfortunately the past is where some of our fans live, and when they run out of anything sensible to say they just accuse a fellow fan of being Welsh. Aren't our fans wonderful?

Some people are short on aspirations and wish to remain in the past. Just as living standards have improved so have facilities. People expect more creature comforts these days. Those people who think we should remain at LR, one must assume they never make improvements to their homes or lifestyles.

Nothing dramatic can be done with LR to bring it up to 21st century standards and we have to move. If we have dreams and aspirations of being better than what we've been, we have no choice. EPL football is big business and we cannot continue with an old stadium with an 18,000 capacity. If the club does grow but we remain at LR, the first ones to complain about not being able to get a ticket will be the ones who wanted us to stay at LR!
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

                              Some good points W12.

However, just a few minor disagreements. With regard to the "Family Club" term, I would have thought that you as much as many others on here would regard that as complimentary for the right reasons. The fact that unlike clubs such as Chelsea, we have many fans whose family's support for the club goes back generations. When I first came in 1971, my sisters fiance who worked for the club, had an old uncle who used to play for and support us. Your dad's a long standing fan, isn't he? If he wasn't, just think who you might be watching today. There is a fellow poster on here who sits right behind me. As does his dad and little brother.

One only needs to look at the number of threads across all messageboards when some tragic illness or worse strikes one of our fellow fans. The support shown by many would not be there if it wasn't for knowing these people and for many years growing up around them. Can just imagine Chelsea fans getting all emotional when some American or Chinese bloke who has never set foot in this country, let alone a football match, sufers such a fate. Or when Tarquin chokes on his prawns.

So for many, being a family club represents "Proper Rangers". Many also feel that a new stadium is a necessity, despite their love and passion for our club and our little ground. How long can we realistically remain in our ground? It's not that much better than the disgrace that is Fratton Park.

I just hope that when the inevitable does happen, that due consideration is given to all the fantastic things about LR and that as much as we can incorporate into the new stadium, is. I share your concerns about new regulations etc., but as the old saying goes: "Where there's a will, there's a way". And fortunately, our new owners seem to be showing all the "Will" we could expect so far. Despite not being "Proper Rangers".
