  • Adele against Chelsea

I've not seen this any where and I know he can go missing and he throws a strop AND I may get slated but against Chelsea

He put SWP through for the sending off
He drew the foul from DDDDDrogba
He put Clint clean through and he should have scored
He got kicked a load retained possession mostly

    Just saying !!!

Yeah, its Typical Adel. He does usually have a few moments of genius and can produce a great through pass, however, in this div it's about possession, coz when you give it away it's often hard to get back, and Adel gives it away more than most, maybe more than anyone in the team, so it's a compromise. He will lose the ball frequently, but can also provide the assist that wins the game. He's just a frustrating stroppy arrogant genius.

        well

you cant really judge adel against chelsea because the ref was totally qpr oriented and the players sensed this, against chelsea adel was brilliant, but there are games when he just goes missing, and at these times you really have to take him off because hes crap

Think he put Luke Moore in with a sublime pass, not Clint.

Adel needs to get in the box more often...going by all the fouls against him we will have penalties galore this season.

He needed a goal to spark but they didnt give him that penalty,,,, we would see another Adel after his first goal but unfortunately he was given that one.

Oh poor Adel. Wasn't given his ball to play with for the pen.

It's s**t like that that winds me up. HH won it, took it and scored it. That's all we needed.

He also played a perfect slide rule pass into Luke Young putting him clean through on goal.

I agree with the comments about his performance, but also there were spells in the game were he looked as if he couldn't be bothered.

Having said that, I was disappointed to see him subbed as he did create chances for others and would surely have created one or two more had he stayed on.

I will also say that I would have preferred to see Buzsaky replace him.

If Taarabt still wants to go in January and QPR get a reasonable offer (one that clears at least £7M for QPR after Tottenham's share), I would seriously consider selling him because QPR need some goalscorers.

i was surprised that we took him off against 9men.

even if he gives it away. chelsea should've had a hard time finding passes with our numerical advantage. as long as adel had the ball in their half i was happy. i reckon if he stayed on we would have scored another. just felt composure infront of goal was missing. young, barton and even HH missed good chances to hit the target at least

                      Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

Mate, Helguson is our penalty taker. He hasn't, as far as I can recall, missed one for us - and he's scored a lot. Its not a game in the park when you think "aw, wouldn't it be nice if Adel got on the score sheet". It was a massive game and we couldn't afford to risk missing it (as when Fitz was given one to take a couple of years ago). Adel has to earn his own goals, same as everyone else.

All that said I also thought he made some very telling contributions on Saturday.

I watched the game back on Sky+ on monday.
Adel had a much better game than I thought when I was at the game.

It's just that we always expect so much from him when he gets the ball, and any mis-placed passes or poor touches are magnified when it's him. Same for Barton maybe.
It's got to the stage now where everytime he gets the ball, I just think "Sod it Adel, just do what you want mate".
I think he thinks the same thing.

But I honestly believe he's working and closing down a lot harder than he did last season.
I know he has his faults, but after last season I just can't stay mad at him for long(!).

Adel can't win really at the moment. If he plays more of a team game, tries to pass it etc, he is accused of not turning on the magic and looking a bit ordinary. But if he tries all his tricks - against better players, so more difficult - he is accused of self-injulgence and letting down the team. Shaun Derry, Clint Hill and lots of others have also looked out of their depth at different times this season in the Prem. Best thing is to keep supporting him because he is a confidence player and take a more measured view of his contribution come Jan. My hunch is he will come good, not to the extent he did last season in the Championship, but will score some good goals and make some telling contributions.

Tend to agree however maybe NW needs to make things clearer in future. From last season it seemed that if HH won the pen then AT would take and vice versa, so presume he thought it was down to him to take.
