I used to like Danny Dichio but he is not the sharpest pencil in the box.
Highlight for me was him and John Spencer scoring the goals against Barnsley.
And Michael Parkinson wrote a good piece about Flanagan And Allen (comedians not QPR forwards)
He took his shirt off after scoring and had a filthy white vest on and looked like a skeleton.
Coaching in Canada!-sais it all..
Getting a bit fed up with limited ex players slating Adel.
While I don't agree with him completely about AT, there have to be some concerns! I think NW is doing a fine job of managing him but at some point he could become too much of a side show! Danny Dichio is a legend at my local club, TFC, he scored the first goal in team history and we have a song for him that we sing in the 24th minute of every match! He is doing a fine job with the Academy as they are graduating players to the first team and will be moving into a brand new multi million dollar facility this spring!
When I started 1882 (which I gave to funky a whilst ago) I asked Dichio for a quick interview (the questions posed are from QPR fans via facebook and twitter) I can say he's deffo a genuine, tops bloke. And is certainly an intelligent man. And is Rangers thru and thru.
But I'll copy and paste this bit: (ps his first game was when he was 2 - he's an R alright)
Q: (and this has been asked by a few fans so I'm ad-libbing a bit here) Can you explain how and why you left QPR as it seems to cause a bit of confusion within the fanbase.
There were 2 major factors why I left QPR and the fans have never known this and that’s why I probably always get a bit of stick when I’ve returned.
1; The club had secretly been trading my name around the league without my knowing. They had in fact agreed with 3 different clubs ( West Ham, Wimbledon , Sunderland) a 1.5million fee and told these clubs a deal would be done at any time. I was annoyed with this and felt the club had betrayed my loyalty with my hometown club.
2; My relationship with Stewart Houston & Bruce Rioch was not the best and after selling my best mate Trevor they told me I was next out the door! I couldn’t grasp how Houston kept calling Rioch ‘Gaffer’ by mistake.
Personally I never had a problem with Dichio going. He was getting passed over for lesser players (Charles, Slade, Hateley) and when he was playing usually with Spencer he looked decent and scored a few goals. His contract was running down and he was offered the chance of a lifetime to go to Sampdoria who at the time were a decent side playing and winning in europe regularly. Ok so maybe it didn't quite work out for him, but he gave it a go and I certainly never begrudged him taking the opportunity.
I am slightly confused about his last bit about Trevor (I'm assuming Sinclair) being sold. Dichio left end of 96/:yush:97 season. Sinclair left in Jan '98???
