joey barton ,never wanted him near the club but credit where its due he's changing my view of him ,I thought he played a blinder yesterday in a very high tension atmosphere he was always calming our player and pulling them away from trouble and also pulling the Gob Shytes away when they were loesing their rag ,giving the Ref the view we were more sinned against than sinning imo he acted like a real Captain

Made a HUGELY important tackle on Cashley in the box in the 2nd half when, IMO, without that they would have scored.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

He did play very well, only bettered by Anton and Faurlin imo. The others all put in a major shift for the casue, which cannot be faulted, but they were too wasteful with the ball and gifted Chelsea posession far too easily by trying stupid things when a simple pass was available but ignored.
Against the likes of Chelsea you cannot afford to do that. They may have only had 9 players for the 2nd half, but no matter what people say on here they were 9 very top drawer Prem players, plus Malouda who came on. These are class players who can make things happen and they did well to make it hard for us, although we helped them alot by having too much fear.

Was so pleased to see him step up at last, that's what we all knew he could do but haven't really seen from him, other than up at Wolves.
Have also had my doubts about the 'reformed' attitude stuff, but yesterday he kept his cool, and I now actually believe he has turned his own personal corner -- clattered badly twice by Cole, the second time right at the end, and 5 years ago he would have probably lamped Cole for it, but he acted with 100% professionalism and walked away.
I hope we now have this Joey to stay.Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########
