Now that the facts have been established and certain decisions have been taken, I feel that now is an appropriate time to say a few things.
Firstly, speaking as part of the moderating team, I would like to apologise to Ric on behalf of us all for the fact that an e-mail address was given out. Regardless of why and whatever the reasons were, this should not have happened. So, please accept our apologies Ric.
Furthermore, I would like to re-iterate what MYU already stated yesterday and to reassure all posters that it is the policy of this site, NOT to give out personal information. Obviously in this instance a breach of this policy took place, but what else can be said, other than to state that in as far as we can control matters, this will not happen again.
There are of course the usual suspects, who being pretty dim, seem to feel that there has been an attempt to cover things up or make excuses for Pete behind the scenes. I can tell you that nothing could be further from the truth. The delay was entirely down to us trying to establish the full facts of what had happened, in order that it could be dealt with in a proper manner, rather than just spout off with untruths and half-truths as some on here are inclined to do. Ric is aware of at what point I found out about all of this and why I couldn't do anything sooner personally.
As most of you will have noticed, Pete has now relinquished his roles as both Admin and Mod. No doubt some will be very pleased with themselves for their continued part in bringing about such a decision. Hardly the result of a cover up, is it? I suspect that even that is not good enough for some on here, who like nothing better than to cause trouble for others. Anonymously, of course.
Ric, throughout all of this you have acted in a very dignified manner. Defended a manager who has behaved disgracefully whatever his reason, along with trying to play this down. You yourself acknowledge that although what happened was wrong, there was indeed no malice intended. Personally, I feel that things could and should have been handled a lot better since the original error of judgement and that you have every right to feel disappointed. Recent posts have indicated a rather different pattern, so from a personal point of view, I would urge you not to start behaving like some on here. I simply cannot believe how some of life's losers and sad cases have even suggested taking legal advice etc., what spiteful, vindictive and nasty pieces of work some of our fellow fans really are.
