  • Are things that bad?

Thanks to all the messing around behind the scenes pre-season we were lined up to be the whipping boys of this division.

Thanks to a huge late effort following the takeover we added some very good players to the squad and will probably do some more in January. Ok we have had a relatively easy start and have some difficult games coming up but we have a couple of wins under our belt and points on the board. I personally think there are enough poor sides in this league that we stand a reasonable chance of staying up.

Main problem I believe is we played so well in the first couple of games after the signings and now look disjointed. Perhaps based on those couple of games we have quickly developed unrealistic expectations. It will take time for the team to properly gel. SWP for instance has not played regular first team football for over a year and he could be a massive player for us.

It is easy to get distracted by off the field things. This stuff with Ricroc is a joke, a complete non-event. Adel is whining again so what? Think about Tevez with Man City, Modric at Spurs and Rooney for a while last season at Manure. It happens to most clubs.

I suspect we have some good times ahead but need to be patient while things become more settled.
