  • Did the club get Ric Roc's email by......................

Now no Mods from this message board have admitted to giving the club Ric Roc's email address. Now did the club somehow find out Ric Roc's full name and use their own internal data base to find his email address?

They have our email addresses from when you we purchase season tickets through the box office.

Just another suggestion until the club comes clean about hoe they got someone's personal email address. The whole thing just stinks and hearing Warnock last night was embarrassing. What he won't understand is that someone like Ric Roc will always be Rangers until the day he dies and long after Warnock has left the club.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Agree mate. More to this than meets the eye. One thing for certain is however they got it they were and are wrong to put it in the public blooming domain without his say so!

The disturbing part about all this apart from how the club obtained the e-mail address is the fact that Warnock claims Ric Roc is not a QPR fan and that he wants other fans to "bombard him with rubbish"

Surely thats a form of incitement and I stringly believe Warnock should apologise

. Love the bloke to pieces, but in this instance he needs to apologise to Ric. Bang out of order IMO.

The club have not got my email address.

It was passed onto them. Albeit this person thought they just wanted to email me & then they decided to publish it.

As I've stated many times I can see in hindsight why NW is p!ssed off but what he must also remember as well is that it was done with no other intention than to pass on a bit of injury & playing news. I didn't see anything damaging in that at all its the ind of news that plays out on Talk Sport, SSN etc every single day of the week.

When it quickly became apparent it wasn't news the press had I immediately tried to get it deleted so as not to cause problems (why would I I'm a QPR fan from birth ffs) yet my request to have post removed was denied why if it was so important?

NW needs to remember I realised fast & acted others went against that so go & speak to them I done everything in good faith & would never post something that is detrimental to this football club.

Of course lessons have been learned all round from this weekend but if I'm being honest if its at a stage where you hear by a friend, or in a pub or whoever 'oh so & so is playing' or 'so & so has picked up & injury' & you can't post it because of a reaction like this u may as well never go on a forum again.

Still think its been massively blown out of proportion & as I said NW needs to question the people who decided the post should stay when it only had 145 views.

Really is last comment from me

It did not have 145 views it had far more. Our ticker on views is slower than normal because it used to slow down the forum. Thats why you often see it on 1 for quite a while. The post had been up for 90 minutes before I was aware of it. The mods obviously did not see it either. To be fair, doubt it would have removed because forums are made up of rumours and counter rumours. We only ever communicated by phone.

I guess the reason the club wanted it to remain is that if removed (and it was removed for about 15 minutes) than it would be obvious all information provided was true and they wanted to create some doubt in case Blackburn rovers picked it up. It makes sense because in that 15 minute window a new post had already started asking why the original had been removed.

I also think the reason why it has been blown up is that by acting that way, they know it won't happen again.

I'm not sure where the theory comes about hits on this forum, if this site had 100 or 1000 visitors it makes no difference. A flat rate is paid each month and this site is NOT reliant on viewers visiting this forum.

By the way Chris Kamara had posted about DJ Campbell well before the kick off against Blackburn, which he tweeted
ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

What I don't understand is this, since when has a forum like this been solely in existence just for the passing of sensitive information prior to an important league game?
It's not, and never will be.
It's not of Earth shattering importance for us to know what Neil Warnock would like kept quiet until after the game's been played.

Now, Neil is understandably peed off, and in his anger is probably lashing out too hard at Ric-Roc, but Ric-Roc is as equally in the wrong if he thinks forums should cease to exist, if they cannot be used to impart information that could be of use tactically to anyone from the opposition looking in. And if the oppo didn't try to glean information from sites like this before Blackburn, after the furore of the last few days, maybe they will from now on.

Pete it had 145 views when I called you. Dunno about slow tickers & whatever on my screen it clearly said 145 that's what I saw.

I spoke to you on the phone literally 20-30 mins after it was posted so not sure where this 90 mins comes from?

At the end of the day you passed on my email address to the club which is a massive breach of confidentiality. You had no right to do that. Even as I understand it was because they duped you into saying they would contact me I should still have been asked.

So if I get NW's email address would he mind if I stuck it up on every football message board in England? I reckon he would & of course no I wouldn't as that is pathetic behaviour.

I have had an interesting email this morning from a legal firm that I will say no more about at this time but the club are on shaky ground doing what they are doing.

I have absolutely no intention of going legal against the club as I wouldn't fight my own club & at the same time I can actually understand Neil Warnock's anger albeit massively OTT in my book. But if this campaign by him / club continues I can see my patience being tested.

                      Don't want anything mate.

Don't even think NW needs to apologise as some have suggested he should because I can understand his point. My beef is the post not being removed very early & my info being passed on.

I have it on good authority that NW will be joining this forum under an alias, and will be giving out all sorts of wrong player information in future, such is his sense of humour...

Ric, it would have been much higher than 145 views in reality. The reason being is that the admin turn the ticker off to help the site run smoothly. View counts then get updated periodically.

Also according to Pete (and I'm only relaying what he's told staff here), the email address he passed on to the club was not in fact your correct email address, and was the one that ended up being published on the offish. Different to the one that Neil read out at the press conference. Its possible the club may have cross-referenced the incorrect one Pete said he gave them with their own database to get the correct address, but that's only guesswork.

But still the big question is why was Rics e-mail address provided to the club without his permission in the first place and what assurances can the rest of us signed up to this messageboard expect that this will not happen to one of us as well if the club decide they do not like a posting?
