  • Who from this message board gave the club Ric Roc's personal address???

From the outside looking in this message board could be in big trouble because of breaching the Data Protection act. When you register for this message board you do so in good faith and it's the law that they hold your personal details confidentially. Even the police would have to go through the correct channels to get someone's personal details from this message board.

My own view is when the club contacted someone on this board they should have told them where to go. Once again the club have shown contempt for the fans and I think it's the start of Warnock's downfall. The team has no passion and desire. The very things that got us up last season. We now have players on massive wages and they are simply not performing. Barton has been disappointing. How can someone be made skipper before he has even played a game? The only new player who has been consistent and good has been Young. Warnock has to start looking at his own decision making. Stop treating players differently and actually start to make some decisions that are going to have a positive effect on our games. Grow some balls, Warnock.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

    Well said mate

It is worrying that the club had possion of the e-mail address and I think a statement needs to be made by the admin of this site as to whether they were responsible or not

I think the privacy statement has enough loopholes to justify giving the email address to the club http://wearetherangersboys.com/forum...ead.php?t=7509

Personally have no issues with that. If Neil wanted to find out who the mole in the first team was.

What I do not agree with is Neil using this site and a fellow fan as a scapegoat.

What I do not agree with is the official website publishing Ric Rocs personal details.

What I do not agree with is NW (or someone at QPR) in passing personal details of a fan onto the press.

Those are more pressing than Pete giving Neil a posters email address IMHO

Privacy statements do not provide any legal protection if legislation is breached.

We are constantly reminded at work of data protection issues. It's the law of the land. You cannot give certain pieces of information without the concerned person consenting. Which ever Mod did give the email address to the club without Ric Roc's consent could be in very big trouble? This story is going to run in the national press.

Agree mate but I still cannot understand why the e-mail address was given by whoever did it as surely the name of the poster would have been the first option?

There are no loop holes to the extent that it would allow a personal address to be given without due legal process taking place. I'm am glad you dont practice law and like penalty taking are very wide of the mark.

In other words a court order would have been required to force this up, so in the time it was posted to the time the club asked it to stay up it is unlikely that the due legal process was started and that there was a duty judge willing at the drop of bottle of claret to sign such an order.

What is of note is the lack of a statement on this from WRTRB and as you know silence speaks volumes. Who ever gave that email address if off this site is a spineless lick spittle and if being being bullied under so called legal action should have sought legal advice. That or they have a conflict of interests and should have removed themselves from the ability to access such information.

Those who run this site have their first duty of care to those who sign on and this is only overwritten by the due legal process which did not take place.

the sites policy (which all agree to) clearly states re giving out of personal info..not just when required by law but when ".... good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary...."

So, if the site thought it necessary to do so then they can. Or I could be reading everything wrong but thats how it sounds??

Coxy calm down a bit mate, let's hope it's not the start of warnocks down full. We are in the premier league, we aren't playing well but a few weeks ago we were quite happy! You're very quick to negative, you predicted us to go down last year and we win the league!

I think warnock has made mistakes in recent weeks, and this thing with Ric isnt great.

Amit & Tony will sort this mess im sure

If I have read the various thread correctly, for any legal process to take place it would be on the basis of theft of a document or to be in receipt of such an item. This would be a criminal case and it is not and only the police would have the ability to pursue the email address.

This is not the case, if in civil action and it related to a much wider matter there may be a process in law but does not happen in the timeframe given. They cannot pursue a civil action for stating wisely or unwisely what was a fact. There is not a Judge in the land who would sign the order.

I will have a bet that the club will not give up the name who provided the email address.

I would suggest those that might wish to pursue civil action for a breach of the DPA and privacy to contact the Date Protection Commissioner and to check your house insurance for legal aid.

Personal information you offer voluntarily via the use of the site may be published on the website and thus be available for public consumption. The information likely to be used for public consumption is your username and any details you make public in your profile and of course the material that you post.

                        Disclosure for legal reasons

You acknowledge and agree that WATRB may disclose personal information we store about you if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with legal process; (b) enforce these terms of service; (c) respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third-parties; or (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of the WATRB Message Board, our members and the public.

These are the paras on disclosure, can you point as to where the poster gives their email address for public consumption or under disclosure for legal reasons where the WRTRB gives this up to the club.

As I said no statement that they did not nor a statement that they did and why.

If they did not then it can only have come from someone who has privately emailed the poster or been emailed by them. Either way it is a very exclusive list.

There are no grounds here for disclosing the email address to any third party

A clear statement needs to be made to clear this up

Peter, our rules are to not give any information to anyone and this includes the club, we are a fans website and have nothing to do with the club.

After yesterdays events I don't trust our club.
