  • Is watching QPR a luxury

nowadays ,just been told in another thread that watching QPR is now a luxury , so all those years of going with family and friends means nothing this season, if you can't afford it so be it ,

In purely common-sense terms then, yes, absolutely it's a luxury. As opposed to food/shelter/heat which is a necessity.

That said, since when has following a football team been married to common-sense? How many if us at some point have said "I don't know why I'm paying to watch this shower...", yet still hand over the readies for the next match?

The way football is heading, it is turning into as much of a luxury purchase as, say, going to the theatre or eating out at a nice restaurant. I really do worry that in 20 years time stadiums will be half full at best because, unlike most on here, the next generation of fans will be used to only going to 1-2 games a season as it's far too expensive to go to every game. The feeling of 'belonging' will be lost forever.

              God I feel depressed now!

Surely it's up to each individual fan as to whether it is a luxury. If your budget allows you to go then all well and good, but you have to pay your bills and living costs first,so it's whatever you got left.

in the current economic climate yes it is a luxery, people have to make a call on what they want to do witht heir cash, if you smoke your weekly fags will be more then the ticket, if you go to the boozer 3-4 times a week again same thing, everything outside of basic everday living is a luxery its up to us to decide which luxery we choose

                    yes it is a luxury
just like holidays and days out...if you can afford it great but if its a choice between food on the table/new shoes for the kids then of course its a luxury

Yes for me it is a luxury, I shelled out 50 quid to someone who couldnt make the Fulham match and bought their ticket. That told me to just get to the games when I really can afford it. Sorry lads.

The prices have forced it to become a luxury. The days of paying £3.50 (less than an album!) to stand on the Loft are long gone. You didn't have to think about working it into your budget. Current prices mean you really have to think whether you can afford to take the kids and then choose what you have to sacrifice if you do want to attend.
