Does anyone think we should now adopt 442 tactics after the failure of using Bothroyd as a lone striker? tbo I cannot slagg off Bothroyd because of the role given by Warnock, but I would very much like us to have him with DJ and having Fuarlin/Barton as defensive midfielders (Derry as sub) and SWP/Taarabt as wingers but give Taarabt a freedome to move with Troare coming forward when Taarabt in the middle when we are attacking. We still can use Smith as striker or winger and Helguson to replace either DJ or Bothroyd.

Think 4-4-2 is simply too rigid these days imo, England got brutally exposed playing it at last years world cup and very few teams can pull it off.

Against Blackburn I would go 4-3-3, the back 5 pretty much picks itself then have Barton, Derry, Faurlin in the middle with SWP and DJ wide and Jay up top.

Doubt we'll see it though as NW can't seem to bring himself to drop Adel for some reason.

I think that is a fair point. I've been saying that to my pals for some time...
Given that LR is a short and narrow pitch, our current (4,3,3/ 4,5,1) formation does not suit the length or width. Our current system preferably works well, when playing on Long & Wide pitches. I think that NW should adopt a 4,4,2 (diamond_) to allow us to play though the middle. This would provide more control in the midfield area, playing a Short/direct passing game, and allowing the to full backs to go forward, creating that extra man if need be.

      What do you think?

Agree but, personally, would have the midfield 4 as:

        Faurlin
        SWP Barton
        Adel
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

For me Bothroyd has had his chance, it's time for the DJ to start. You don't need a big target man all the time, good movement off the ball, keep the passing simple and above all, keep possession. Anyone who watched Spain in the week will know what I mean. Now I know we are not Spain, but the mentality of football has got to change in this country.

Very true, but to drop JB would kill his confidence completely, then if it doesn't come off with DJ or HH we are in a bit of trouble.

JB hasn't had anywhere near the sort of service most other Premier League strikers get, in my eyes we need Barton, Taarabt AND SWP to get closer to him and give him so decent service to work with.

Adel goes missing enough as it is when playing in the midfield, would never see the lad if he played up front!

You can't not drop someone because you don't want to hurt their feelings. All players accept that if they are not performing they will be "rested". It's part of being in a squad. If we all lived our life saying "what if", then nothing would ever change.

Because he is our best player, miles better than SWP.

To drop Adel is a spectacular own goal.

He is my Lord and Saviour so you can shove your DJ or SWP up your you know what

Yeah because Adel has proved himself at Premiership level for the best part of 10 seasons hasn't he?!

Don't get me wrong, on his day he is unplayable, it just seems that these days don't come quite as often as they did in the championship.

NW has even said it himself, JB hasn't been getting the service to get the goals, we don't actually look that great going forward, sort that out and the goals will come for JB.

                            My 11 would be:

                            Kenny

                            Young Gabbidon Ferdinand Traore

                            Faurlin Derry

                            SWP Barton Taarabt

                            DJ

This is when playing the bigger clubs, and when playing others, drop Derry for another striker and go 4-4-2. When we play 4-2-3-1 we look good going forward and defending we have a couple of defensive midfielders to protect the back four.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
