I think we just need to face up to the fact that whoever we get and however good they have been up till now, playing as a striker for Rangers seems to give them an amazing ability of becoming crap almost overnight.

Very good striker, would be delighted if we got him in January.

You got to have your rod out and your landing net ready surely with a post like this? Basic stats:

Roman: 19 in 44 for Russian national side. 89 in 141 for Spartak Moscow. 20 in 74 PL games for Spurs.

Rowan: 1 in 17 for Birmngham. 5 in 51 for us. Combined total of 1 in 26 during loan spells at Hull, Brentford, MK Dons & Exeter.

I, for one, would be over the moon to get Pav on loan. As Ric said: top player.

I think he's one of those players that struggles with the rotation system. You ask any striker and they want to play every game, especially if they bag a goal or two. it must dent their confidence massively if not picked, which impacts performance.

If he played in a team and was made the the main striker and played week in week out, i'm sure his performances would get better and would do well for any side outside the top 6 who could give him that regular place. He could do very well for us.

You posters that think Pav is the answer to what we need check this out what we need up front more than anything is a target man thats Warno's style,
Pav is never in a million years a target man in that role He is no better than bothroyd and is just as lacking physically .Now if we sign a a target man as well as Pav thats a different story He would be well worth a shot

Matty I,m sure Fiey was being Tongue in cheek [Vine] but Pav's goal ratio in England is almost 1=4 games ,dont you think D J is capable of that

Should hope he is tbf lol and Yea i do, I rate DJ highly and think he needs to be playing, way too good to be sitting on our bench. I know its not NWs way fo playing , but Id like to see Jay and DJ have a crack up top together. With Jays link up play and Djs movement and finishin i think it could, potentially, be very succesful. Especially with Adel, Joey and SWP supporting the attacks.

Apparently on Fernandez's blog he has said he would like to see us play two up top at home. If we don't against as iniviting an opponent as Blackburn we never will...

Stll poor. My Tottenham season ticket holder mate hates him too. I can't be any more clear.

Andy Johnson on the other hand
                      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                      And many more mistakes

... had scored 10 in 70 PL games for Foolham before his hatrick vs us? And my Foolham fan pals that are ST holders think he is god awful and cant wait to see the back of him.

Personally, wouldnt mind him for the quoted £2mill at all. But just saying, IMHO, Pav alot better player.

Know what you mean. If Flav made a comment like that the board would be in uproar - but do agree with our owner on this one, at least against weaker sides at home.
