The facts speak for themselves. In four PL games out of seven this season, we've scored nil, and one of the games we did score was an own goal. If you don't score goals, you don't win games, it's not rocket science is it? Yet we persist in keeping the PL's sixth top scorer from last season on the bench. Madness.

It's fine to play 4-5-1 when we're playing the likes of Man U, Chelsea, and Man C, but against the likes of Fulham, Blackburn, and Swansea, it should be 4-4-2. IMHO, DJ should be given a run.

Heres the list of top scorers in the prem:

      Rooney Man Utd 9
      Aguero Man City 8
      Dzeko Man City 6
      Agbonlahor Aston Villa 4
      Ba Newcastle 4
      Lampard Chelsea 4
      Suarez Liverpool 4
      Adebayor Tottenham 3
      Best Newcastle 3
      Di Santo Wigan 3
      Fletcher Wolverhampton 3
      Johnson Fulham 3

      Realistc targets bolded.

Would take Johnson on that one every day of the week. Who do he think we should sign then? Aguero? Dzeko? Comeon.
Ba has only just joined Newcastle, Best and Di Santo are no better than what we've got, Wolves will want a decent return on the 6 mil they paid for Fletcher and people are only raving about Johnson over one game, people need to watch him over a season not on one game. Campbell is as good as Johnson IMO. I think that Owen would be a great signing for us, not getting game time at Man Utd and is still a brilliant finisher.

Andy Johnson can get in my bed I love him that much (Non-gay)
          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
          And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Both or either would be great signings. Laughable of that poster (I don't think a QPR fan) to say it wouldnt be "ambitious" to sign them. We aren't going to get Rooney. Think we can play 4-4-2 for certain games but will prob have to strengthen the midfield with one more good player first. Think it will be hard to play DJ AND Tabs in the same match, but in Jan it will be about giving Warno more options. At the moment Bothroyd has virtually no competition: after Jan, he will. BTW, on that list of realistic targets I also like the look of Di Santo of what Ive seen of him so far - quick, v skillful and knows where the goal is (all too well against us, sadly).

If it his two shots vs us didn't have deflections he wouldn't have hit the target. His goalscoring record is poor aswell:

              2006–2008 Audax Italiano 61 (14)
              2008–2010 Chelsea 8 (0)
              2009–2010 → Blackburn Rovers (loan) 23 (1)
              2010– Wigan Athletic 32 (4)

I agree that another strikre might give Bothroyd a reason to find form again.

Mate he might know where the goal is but he don't go near it very often, he chose us and Everton I think, to score the most he has ever got in a season which is 3 so far and all were deflected.
He joined Chelsea in the 2008/09 season, before going on loan to Blackburn & Wigan.Basically he's scored 5 in 62 appearances in England.

Dave, Trotter, thanks for that, I stand corrected, didn't know his back story just thought he's looked quite good the few times I've seen him this season. Obviously the Fulham pair have a much better strike rate. Suppose my only reservation is that all the players we seem to be going for now are nearer the end of their careers than the beginning. Not complaining as am incredibly grateful for the investment Fernandes and the Mittels are pumping in but at the risk of sounding spoilt it would be nice to get a young, ambitious striker - maybe a bit of a rough diamond who hasn't quite cut it at a Chelsea, Man U or Arsenal but who might make their name with us.
