  • Looking at Zamora and Johnson

Queens Park Rangers want to take advantage of the growing discontent at bitter-rivals Fulham by plotting moves for their top strikers.
    Kept the faith!

Another step in the right direction, if true.
15 years in the wilderness will be a distant memory come Sunday 8th May 2011.

There is a comment on there saying 'If we are ambitious we wouldn't sign those two'.
My answer to that is who else are we going to convince to come here with prem lg goalscoring experience?
      Queens Park Rangers
      NPower Champions 2010/2011

PREMIER LEAGUE 2011 - ETERNITY (Oh well got that wrong, we'll be back though)

We have the 6th highest goal scorer in the PL last season and we don't play him, so why would a better goal scorer come to W12, when he won't be able to play to his strengths (score goals) but change to fit our system and play with his back to goal.

Completely agree. Difference is if these two came in you have to start them.4-4-2 is needed after last weeks shambles.

We would be creamed in a 4-4-2 formation with Taarabt doing what he wants, all NW needs to do is get the striker to attack the goal and not play with his back to it holding the ball up. Its like playing with Paddy Kenny with one hand tied behind his back.

Johnson would be fantastic, just what our system needs. However, Zamora is in the same mould as Bothroyd, HH and Hulse, note I said mould not class btw.
Difference between Johnson and Zamora is the movement and speed that Johnson has, he gets into the channels, loses his marker, he's quick and clever, whereas Zamora by comparison is static and slow. Both are better than what we have there is no doubt, but to me Andy Johnson is worth 10 mill, Zamora probably about 3mill.

I got a bit of stick from someone on here who reckoned a lone striker should be 'holding the ball up' to bring the midfielders in. The phrase is one of the most over-used in football and it's crap. Who on earth wants a lone striker playing with his back to goal all the time?

The facts speak for themselves. In four PL games out of seven this season, we've scored nil, and one of the games we did score was an own goal. If you don't score goals, you don't win games, it's not rocket science is it? Yet we persist in keeping the PL's sixth top scorer from last season on the bench. Madness.

It's fine to play 4-5-1 when we're playing the likes of Man U, Chelsea, and Man C, but against the likes of Fulham, Blackburn, and Swansea, it should be 4-4-2. IMHO, DJ should be given a run.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

                            Whats he on about?

Heres the list of top scorers in the prem:

                            Rooney Man Utd 9
                            Aguero Man City 8
                            Dzeko Man City 6
                            Agbonlahor Aston Villa 4
                            Ba Newcastle 4
                            Lampard Chelsea 4
                            Suarez Liverpool 4
                            Adebayor Tottenham 3
                            Best Newcastle 3
                            Di Santo Wigan 3
                            Fletcher Wolverhampton 3
                            Johnson Fulham 3

                            Realistc targets bolded.

Would take Johnson on that one every day of the week. Who do he think we should sign then? Aguero? Dzeko? Comeon.

Mate, I meant taraabt should be dropped to go 4-4-2.
