It's not. If we signed Rooney and he was woeful then would you not have a winge.. Joey Barton is a massive signing for our club and I still think will be crucial to us staying up. End of cause I'm not sure where this is going.

[QUOTE=Jeffro;720613]BArton is a side issue. He simply hasnt played well and people avoid this and soon as I mention it initially people went off on one, it seems now more and more agree that he isnt playing well and needs to step up.[QUOTE]
Jeffro,
At the risk of igniting an already simmering situation, the irony of this is just brilliant.
I don't have a problem with your views, they are your opinions. I think Barton has brought an awful lot already, despite being surprised at how often he has given the ball away in the few games he has played so far.
But another poster, one that may even have posted on this thread, was mercilessly criticised for his opinions regarding a different player some while back.
You two are making me smile today.

Funnily enough there is a common demnominator in that the higheer money you are paid the higher expectations..
i.e Man Unoted would expect Wayne Rooney on 150k a week to have much more importance and effect on the side than say Jonny Evans on 60k a week as an example.
As regards performance, you're not happy, I think that's plain to see.
Just before we signed him from the toon,I had a look on one of their sites, and alot of posters on there were saying things like, "bet they play him in the middle", and "they've got no idea and will play him in the centre where he's shite". According to them his best position is on the right side of midfield
thats where he was being most effective.

Also what has BArton brought to the team, that wasnt there already with Faurlin and Derry, please enlighten me.
Glad I make you smile.

I did not think all the happy stuff would last long.
Very interesting to note the lack of threads on here over the last few weeks since we got our club back compared to the number we are seeing now after that thrashing. I think there are a number of posters who are only happy when there is stuff to moan about. Just an observation really.

People going off on one Jeffro. Criticising other posters for the points they believe they are making as opposed to the ones that they actually are.
I also think Barton has brought a bit of composure, confidence to others and the odd glimpse of high quality in 3 of his first 4 games at a new club. Could do a lot better and hopefully will, but could have done a whole lot worse.
Have to say I've been more impressed by Traore and Young so far, although Bothroyd seems to be fitting in nicely to the role of " non scoring striker".

That my honest view on Barton, ok the primadonna was a joke reply but I am seriously disappointed with his effort or lack of it.
