  • Time for calm

I can't believe we're already seeing the "###x is sh*t", "###x does nothing", "###x is too greedy" rubbish. Get a grip ffs.

Yes it's a bad result and an awful performance but it's the first time we've played like this since the takeover. It didn't help conceding a goal so early and Kenny's mistake to give away the penalty left us shocked and needing to chase the game.

WE WILL HAVE GAMES LIKE THIS.

Let's not get on everybody's backs and slate them - we will come back.

I think it shows that whilst we have a good first XI, we don't have the squad yet. Orr will work hard and is a solid Championship player, as is Hall, but neither are Premiership class unfortunately. I think Young looks much better at right back too.

Bothroyd is not a bad player but I do think he needs more urgency. Today Fulham have showed much more guile, determination and belief when getting into our box. We seem to have decent build-up play but have no idea what to do when we reach the right areas. We also give the opposition far too much time to get men behind the ball - we must be sharper, faster and more precise. Johnson showed how to be a Premiership striker and we do lack somebody in his mould at the moment. Whether DJ can step up to the plate we'll have to see.

It's obvious that we'll have to strengthen in January but let's support the team we have between now and then. We'll be on the receiving end of some thrashings but there will be some great moments too I'm sure. A lot of people got carried away after 3 good performances but the Premier League is a harsh and punishing environment.

Yes today is disappointing but we've come a long way and have a lot to learn. Let's keep perspective and get behind the team for Blackburn.

    Come on you RRRRRRRRRRs.

    Brilliant post !

Some our fans are getting completely carried away at the moment thinking we are going to storm the league. They didn't show enough respect to a good Prem league team. A team that is currently a long way ahead of ours.

Michael, indeed Fulham are way ahead of us at the moment. I think Jol has them playing some decent football and as a squad they're far stronger than us. Disappointing day but perhaps a much-needed dose of reality!

      We'll come back though.

Actually thought Braders was one of the few players who really fought for the cause today and given the limits to his ability, thought he did pretty well. But the centre of defence was embarrassing. Am sorry but on the day Fitz Hall looked like a pub player and Ferdinand just wasn't commanding at all. Also Warnock made a mistake in playing Young at left back - he looked all at sea there. In midfield we actually played quite nice tippy tap stuff, just not with any penetration - but the real prob was the defence that looked half asleep.

Thought Orr worked hard and played to best of his ability...perm player? Not in million years but same can be said by quite a few of our team

stainrod I agree about the tippy tap stuff. Knock it around nicely but not enough penetration as you say and we seem to wait for them to get defenders behind the ball before trying to get into the box.

Youre right there's no penetration one touch to many, the reason is no cutting edge up front ,opposing defender not having any presure in and around the box, our m/fielders having to play pass after pass looking for an opening becouse its not being created by our front man

But last season Tabs was creating chances out of nothing. Against Newcastle SWP looked like he was going to be just as devastating but he has gone back a bit each game he has played. But I still come back to the point that it doesn't matter how incisive your attacking play is if your defence is lying on a deckchair having a snooze and a chilled beer.

agree mate - can't do anything about the squad until January anyway - the players NW has brought in are defo a class above what we already had Traore being absent today has proved that - fully expect the squad to be further strengthened in the next window

Of couse our defenders should have did better ,but there's a term in football called defeding from the front it means putting pressure on a teams defence so they cant push so many players forward which ends up with your defence getting overrun and thats what was happeing at times

And almost had a couple of chances
